I will never understand the radical defense of the idea that women care that much about abs...
They care about abs the way you and I care about a nice ass, or long feminine hair. It matters. But from all the woman I've spoken with, shoulders, arms, and chest are of higher priority. Especially arms.
It helps maintain masculine/feminine polarity. Women want to feel in their feminine, and feeling/embracing a big man gives them this right away. They melt without you saying a word.

2. As I said before, there is a spectrum of physical shapes and levels of fitness. The "flab fest" comment was just a lousy insult, grow up.
Wasn't directed at you, just the couching lifestyle guys who make it much easier for me picking up hired guns at bars/clubs.

3. If a person has other priorities over weightlifting, that is their choice. It doesn't automatically make him or her lazy, or even fat. You can't do everything, humans have limited resources and unlimited wants. That's economics 101.
I'd wager any man not hitting the gym is out of shape/fat/flimsy.

4. Looks at best will get you attention, if the girl is into that look. That is literally it. There is no "huge advantage." As I said, you can get attention in a myriad of ways.
Looks/body are a massive advantage over guys who aren't fit. It's just science. Unless you're Kevin Costner.

Ultimately, I hate this line of thinking that you have to become a bodybuilder or athlete for pickup because it ends up with new guys going to the gym when they should be talking to women. You wanna be ripped? Fine, just don't complain when women aren't fawning over you.
Why is it either or? It's easy to do both.
This kind of false choice feels like ego protection.
