Hey everybody :D

I'm a scrawny, boyish-looking man at age 24. I've never weighed above 65kgs and always been a thin dude, which is both good and bad. Bad because I look like a nerd. Good because at least I'm not a fat fuck. I've never had the self-control to keep up working out but I've always wanted to have a muscular body (I don't mean like Schwarzenegger or something, I just want to have something to show).

Especially, I want some abs. Now, I recently received a newsletter from Brad at the MPUA Forums where he followed up on his previous letter saying he's going to get a six pack. This is what he wrote in his latest mail: "My diet is going well, first week out of the way and feeling much more healthy already. Need to keep this up if I want that 'lady killing' six pack yo!" lol

That inspired me to make this thread. I would like to propose a challenge to all guys who wants to get a six pack, just like me and Brad. The idea is that we can motivate and inspire eachother, post images of our progress and see if we can work it through. Obviously, this is not for the ones already routinized in working out or who are already well built. This is for us who needs the kick in the ass to get into it.

The challenge: to get a six pack during the time between July 1st to December 31st. :D

This thread is a pre-discussion prior to this challenge. I want everybody to come together and express what you think about this idea, who's up for it and how we can get through it and get those abs. What workouts would be the best to reach this goal? What food should we be eating? Thoughts? Opinions? Maybe there's already something similar in the works, in that case please post a link! :o

P.S. Remember, having goals are good even if you would happen not to succeed. If you weigh 150 kgs and want to get some abs maybe six months isn't realistic - but that's not really important. What's important is to go as far as you can and we'll be here to support you.

P.S.S. I'd hate to see anyone bash this idea with arguments like "lol just go work out like normal peepz". I ask you just to try to see why doing this as a group thing could be motivating for unmotivated people.

Cheers!
- Garruk

I'm down man. The only thing I can think of is to just eat a lot of lean meals. My diet consists of vegetables, fruit, pasta, tuna, and turkey. I also drink a shit ton of water and tea. I've never put much detailed thought into just the abs. Although I was talking with one of my trainers a few weeks ago, and he said he had a buddy who use to do partial sit ups (never went down fully) and had his buddies punch him in the gut lol. I haven't tried it, but I hear it works!

Awesome dude! I am Sam I am also a small build 24yo.

I was in the forces for 25 years so have had a decent physique for a small guy and know a thing or two about working on your body.

I am down for working towards a six pack by the 1st of july as im in progress as after two years out of the forces with no exercise I have lost what I had already. from your starting pick I would say you need to get a standard set of dumbells if you don't already and if you don't have a substitute a bench(both come pretty cheap).

you want to look at dumbell excersises on youtube and health sites, but you want to work your whole body if you want abs, don't just do mega a amount of sit-ups. You will get abs that way, but they will hardly show if you don't strip the belly fat that we all have. to do that do some interval training go running 2-3 times a week start it slow with burst sprints 30secs jogging 15secs sprinting. Work with the weaghts on the days you arent running and take 2 rest days. Eat low fat and carb meals and plenty of protein if you wonna spend the money get a lean muscle build shake search online there are loads out there, use it after every workout. Keep it up after about 2-3 weeks you should start seeing a difference and you will get the kick of confidence that gets you hooked.

Keep up the hard work man it is a great feeling when you start to get dem GAINS! By july first you should be in shape to start hitting the gym. When you do the way I work out is, 15 mins intervals on the bikes 1-2 k on the rowers followed by weights targeting different muscle groups every other day abs done any time i get chance and the odd run here or there.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. I won't be hitting the gym but I intend to do workouts at home using some techniques from [ur="https://www.youtube.com/user/KozakSportsPerform"]HASFit[/url], using light dumbbells and lots of reps. I've tried them before and - believe it or not - they are really intense, especially the ab excercises. My plan includes working out the entire body as well as jogging but I will make a detailed schedule for myself in time.

Glad you're up for the challenge. That hopefully makes a least three of us!

No it doesn't, but keeping fit and healthy is good for you, feeling good about your body helps confidence and when you do get laid the girl is not likely to be disappointed that you have a six pack and keep yourself in shape. Not everything on this forum is about women in fact, most of this forum is about guys improving their lives.

Speaking from experience, I assume?

Game has been, and continues to be, life improvement to me. It's a platform to overcome fear, to be more comfortable around and influence other people, to build up a strong core confidence and reach unprecedented goals. Meeting and connecting with women is basically just the prize for all that effort.

Im up for this:

Image

Start weight 71.7kg
Belly circumference 81cm
Body fat: 19%

My goal is to see those abs. I won't be going to the gym. I'm going to make my diet super clean via the "tim ferris slow carb diet"

Which is eat 3/4 meals a day, lean meat and veg only. No complex carbs. One cheat day a week (where I can eat as much as I want however unhealthy it is...sunday)

Will keep updating.

I'm up for this challenge! I think for me especially, it could be part of an overall overhaul of my life to not just get my physique back on track but my life to in terms of being motivated and disciplined. However, I have no idea how I should approach getting fit in terms of a routine. I've always just done sit ups, push ups, and dumb bell exercises here and there but have no understanding of diet or how many times I should exercise a week...therefore does anyone know of any comprehensive routines that will work for myself and others on this thread?

Depends on what your goal is

For a newbie, I would recommend to start with "strong lifts 5x5" (the ebook is free)

Try sparkpeople.com and the app with it. Works with fitbit and helps manage food intake goals. Works great, if you're unsure what to do at first.
