Online sarging... no matter what website you use you're going no where without a good opener. So whats your guys favorites to use? Let's make a list.
" I'm thinking about robbing a vegas casino, stealing a ferrari, then floating across the gulf to cuba in our brand new ferrari submarine car all james bond style. you in?"

That opener is completely generic and obfuscated with participial phrases and no subordinate clauses. You are going to lose most prospects without them even finishing the sentence

Actually with a little work this would be a good opener! Girls would be like "WTF?"

Depends on her profile.

Pick out something she is wearing, or doing, and make a comment.

If she is in a photo with her friends in a club/bar, say something like "I bet you won the award that night for best partier lol.." If in her profile she says she likes swimming, ask her what she thinks of Michael Phelps. if she likes football/soccer, ask her who she thinks is better out of Messi and Ronaldo.

The key really regarding openers is to provoke a response and intrigue, and also be interesting and cocky/funny. It will make her respond since it leaves a positive impression on her, given you're a stranger.

Skittles, Nutella, or Strawberries... You can only pick one, and NO cheating, like dipping the strawberries in nutella or whatever... This will give me serious insight into your core personality..

If you have a funny and witty profile, the randomness of this will make sense.

I've used variations of this and girls eat it up. Find something childish or game like. Keep it short. Gives them an easy "in" to respond without much investment.

Make it something that will "make" her respond. Something witty, if not a little cheeky (note "cocky/funny" as many PUA coaches say).

What that message will be depends on her profile. If she is sitting in a desk at work, I may say "As a Fortune Global 500 CEO, can I commend you for working so hard and diligently?" Of course, most likely she wouldn't be a CEO of a top world 500 firm, so a typical response may be "lol.. Fortune Global 500 I wish!" or "so you're insinuating I don't work hard? lol.."

Openers are important, but don't mean shit. That sounds contradictory, but openers are important to get a foot into the door. In the long run, it wouldn't matter since she would want you for your DHV and Alpha status in the long-run. And first impressions count, despite what PC society says. To get a good halo effect, an opener can make all the difference.

Picking out something in her profile puts you with the 9% of guys who do the same thing. Another 90% simply introduce themselves. If you can pick out something in her profile and use it as situational opener then you are in the 1%. These percentages are just an estimate; it's actually much lower than 1%. I have proof to back that up.

What I've been using lately is a question involving two outrageous choices; one related to her profile (if possible), the other kinda silly. For instance, if she mentions traveling as a keen interest and has pictures to show she has travelled, I would ask "Would you rather travel the world looking for religious artifacts like Indiana Jones, or run away to join the circus and be a human cannonball?" One chick was really into animals, so instead of an Indiana Jones reference it was a Jane Goodall living-with-the-apes reference. Another had several pictures on the beach, so it was a Jacque Cousteau deep sea explorer vs. human cannonball. If the profile is kind of blasé, with no emphasis on any one aspect of life, any question of this sort will do. This is the usual route I take, since so many profiles are a little bland and don't offer to much insight into a persons life. A surprising number of girls have chosen the circus, which can lead to a comparison of whichever site you are on to a circus freak show. If she says neither, you can pull the line from Pulp Fiction of Beatles Men versus Elvis Men ("Beatles men can like Elvis, and Elvis men can like the Beatles, but you can't like them both equally. Somewhere along the way, you have to choose").

I've been testing this one out recently for the 9s-10s with no profile except "I like going to bars and having fun" in their profile

It is really funny how the looks/profile scale works.... The hotter the female thinks she is, the less she writes, and visa versa. Women think that if they're pretty they can write basically nothing about themselves and they'll still get messages. Which is basically true but they get those really weird creepy messages rather than someone who can actually have a conversation. The Men who actually can hold a conversation will be like, yeah shes pretty but...what else? Next...

Adapting and trying this opener now.

I compared my OK Cupid sent messages to the number of messages received. With the Jacque Cousteau/circus opener I have about a 25% reply rate over the past 10 days (I've only been using it that long). This is only going to increase as sometimes I won't get a response for a day or two. Also, I haven't adjusted this for profiles that might be abandoned. I just noticed yesterday you can see the last time someone logged on, so if a profile hasn't been active since October of last year, it's pretty safe to say that person is no longer using the site, which throws the response rate askew.

Let us know your results. If you combine this with the higher weekend response rate I'd like to see what you get.

Overall the one downside of this one is that it can become. The upside is you're basically into a conversation. You can discuss why, or which one first, why not the other, tease them. And it's using something in their profile which is great.
