| A lot of guys have this problem. We keep thinking, and thinking and thinking and we never seem to stop! We want to find a way to let go of our minds. To stop using it when we don't need to.
Don't get me wrong, the mind is a great tool to solve a problem, but it's a tool, and like any tool, we have to put it to rest. You're not gonna walk with a hammer in your hand for the rest of your life. That would hurt.
You can do this by meditating, or focusing on an object, activity, etc...
But I found another way to do it.
All you have to do is think of something really nasty. So nasty that you will want to prefer to stay out of your head. The idea is to make unnecessary thinking PAINFUL.
And yes, i've tried it out. It works.
However you might say "I think it's good to think. You can solve problems that way ."
That is true, but I'm talking about compulsive thinking, which you don't need to do, so I'm going to show you how to get rid of it the right way:
Whenever you're home alone and you catch yourself thinking about that neighbor of yours that won't leave you alone, or how your dog barks too much, or that baby kangaroo that you've always wanted to buy, then think of something really nasty. This makes you warp back to the present instantly. It also makes me feel better to be in the present since it helps me realize none of my thoughts are real. This helps me dissasociate myself from my mind using negativity since it's too painful to think at those moments.
