Girls are into fashion, so it's likely that they will recognize your $200 Pradas for what they're worth... Fashion sense and money to spend... Do you want to communicate that to girls, or that you prefer cheap stuff like drugstore shades for $20?
Do you want to attract materialistic girls or no? As far as fashion goes, a $20 pair of sun glasses work just as well as a $200 pair. It all comes down to how you wear it. Good fashion sense or style in no way means one needs to spend $XXX to look good.
I want to attract the hottest girls... Period! And I don't box them into materialistic/not materialistic categories, it's a grey area come to think about it... Imagine girls talking like we are doing now and one says "I will not wear short dresses and high heels and make up; I don't want to attract guys that are just into my body"... Would you date a girl that's dressing in a shabby way and does not wear make up? From my perspective I want to meet the girls' best self and I'm giving them my bst self in return... designer shades included...
It may also boil down to the type of culture where you live... Are you familiar with Hofstede's culture dimensions? In a masculine culture (such as where I live) men are very competitivein terms of material posessions (which explains why there are so many expensive cars in a relatively poor country) while women expect men to be provider... None of that New Age shit "We're all equal" in Romania... That being said, I respect your opinion, let's agree to disagree
