First and foremost, comparing a drug addiction and a porn addiction is just a fallacy in itself.
No its not, there are addictions formed from actual stimuli and then there are addictions formed from compulsive subconscious habit. In other words they become obsessions because of the good feeling they give off. While it is impossible to be physically addicted to marijuana, it is not impossible to be behaviorally addicted to marijuana. Trying to separate the two shows me your lack of knowledge on the subject, feel free to use Google and search up addiction any time.

Secondly, any person who masturbates five to six times a day needs something to do with his life besides women.
He/she should consider taking up hobbies and finding interests in their life.
Hell that alone can and will get you laid if you take opportunities presented to you.
Where in my post did I say he should not pick up another hobby? Of course, staying busy is one of the best ways to beat any addiction regardless if it is a physical or behavioral addiction, this is proven fact. Regardless, not masturbating and putting that energy onto women would yield great results over time. Part of overcoming addiction is rechanneling that old energy into something new. The habit never truly goes away; it just becomes transformed into something new or healthier. In other words it’s substituted by something else.

Thirdly, masturbation is a normal thing.
However more than once a day is not.
Yes and yes, more than once a day indicates lack of impulse control, something that has to be built and established overtime in small amounts. Again, it's a behavioral addiction. An addiction by no means has to be a physical one. It can just be a routine behavior that over time causes harm.

It is not an over simplification, just common sense.
But I do understand not everyone gets that.
Not really it's pure blokery if you ask me. You’re the type to tell a crack addict, "Hey it's ok if you smoke a little crack. It won't kill you." I know you didn't say that, but that is the equivalent. Cool, masturbation is normal, I get it. However, not every guy can control himself the way you can, and you must respect this fact. What is common sense to you might not be common sense to someone else. You might come from a healthy and well functioning family. You might have much better impulse control than the guy in question. Another guy could have a mood disorder, or come from a family with a history of kleptomania, gambling addictions, and all types of behavioral related issues. Regardless, if he feels that cutting out masturbation is a necessary step to living a healthier and well-functioning life then so be it. I see no harm in completely rerouting his behavior.
Notice how my argument did not encompass all individuals, just those who have trouble controlling their masturbation habit. Notice how I don't over generalize everyones problems into one huge simply lumped solution? You should try that out some time. Again, you’re over simplification shows that you have little understanding of the topic at hand. This does not change the fact that the urge maybe difficult to control. For those who are truly addicted to the habit, cutting it out may be the best options at hand. Again, this argument was directed towards those who have impulse control and behavioral issues.
