You want an insulin spike after your workout. You want to create an anabolic environment.
no you do not

whey alone is enough
Your not going to turn diabetic from an insulin spike from postworkout carbs. Every knowledgeable bodybuilder knows that. Broscience at its finest.

Here's a link of the effects of insulin

In short Insulin spikes create higher protein synthesis.

If you plan on getting your simple carbs from juice and you take creatine post workout make sure you do not mix the the creatine with the acidic juices. They will react and hender the creatine into a different compound making it useless.

Insulin spiking is useless because it does not have anabolic signaling in the natural range, this is why Insulin is classifed as an anabolic drug when taken by those who are not diabetic. But you should still eat carbs post workout, just not for the sole purpose of an insulin spike. But my god how damn ignorant it is to think your going to become diabetic after eating carbs, every time you eat anything insulin is released by the body to aid in the breakdown of glucose

I'm curious what your stats are, to be honest 99.99% of people that worry about shit like insulin spiking and sodium loading and shit like that, are FAR from ready from having to worry about this shit.

eat some fucking SPAM before, protein shake and a fucking potato after.

First and for most, make sure your diet, sleep and workouts are in line, people that have those down are fine with just that for YEARS before you need to worry about shit like insulin spiking.

First off you wont go diabetic if you get an insulin spike. Otis is right about that so don't worry. Just don't be eating sugary candies all day. An insulin spike after a workout wont give you diabetes.

Second according to the article you posted

"In conclusion, though carbohydrates are not anabolic, they do have a synergistic effect on muscle protein synthesis when combined with dietary protein post-workout."

So carbs aren't anabolic, but you should still use them pre and post workout.

nice article

thanks for the different angels guys. It's really dependent on your workout times and sleep cycle as well i've figured. Also i think listening to your body is a good indicator.
