My copy came the other day , I'm just reading it now , for those that may be interested in reading it , it would be advised to have some general knowledge of biology as it contains a lot of scientific jargon .

Ive looked for that Nrf2 they don't sell it in the uk :\

I think im going to just read it for now and wait it out a few months until i have money to throw away on expensive shipping :P

Im interested in seeing how you guys get on though :)

^This reminds me of that silly cereal commercial where they stack a hundred competitor's bowls for their one . . .

Hobbit, I think you're going to have to eat 100 bowls of broccoli. . .

You guys getting ready? Getting a few invites to St. Patty events and I'm quite certain that green beer is not a great way to kick off this program. Regardless, I'm going to try to create a calendar on Friday. Shall we use this thread as a group journal for the program?

I didn't read most of the replies here so probably somebody mentioned this, but anyways:

Many Buddhist books have a lot of ideas which can be very useful in PU.

P.S. looks like authors made quite a bit of money because of this post :)

Hey, my supplements just came in so I'm good to go!

Also, I'm fine with doing the group journal on here

Ask for forgiveness of anyone you may have wronged. Drop them a handwritten note in the mail, or get on the telephone with them and say you are sorry directly.

I want to fully access this program, so help me clarify where to draw the line?

Sure, I could have been a better boyfriend in past relationships, I could have been nicer to the cashier at the store. Does this mean I have to drop a hand written note? Call up a girl I haven't spoke to in ages?
Why the push back? I'm certain that you are capable of accomplishing these tasks. Also, I'm pretty sure that this process requires that you be specific as possible . . .

Unless I seriously wronged someone, is this really necessary?
Your opinion and theirs might differ.

Why not learn to accept the past, learn from it, and forgive yourself?
This reminds me . . . I always found it comical to see teary eyed people kneeling in churches, begging for forgiveness from "GOD" with the actual people that they seriously wronged sitting right next to them. What is that? If you wronged a person, ask for forgiveness from that person. If you wronged yourself, ask forgiveness from yourself.

I'll be getting my supplements soon, probably Friday at the latest. The whole full moon thing seems un-needed when we know when everyone is starting anyway. I would prefer just to start in a week. This gives others time to put up the finishing touches on the junk they need.
This weekend was hectic for me but began some exercises already. The full moon . . . is it just me or was Saturday night a tough 'sleep' night for all?

Oh . . . and the star gazing . . . anybody live in a city? All I can do is look up and laugh at the fact that I can see ONE dim source of light other than the moon of course . . .

Perhaps what we need to do is adopt a 'rolling admissions' concept to this program . . . I'm still waiting for my supplements . . .

Kasabi, I was up all night on Saturday. You called it. Could have been the cat pee smell from the place I was staying at for SXSW, but it could have been the moon too I suppose.

I'm looking forward to this but I have no idea when I get the supplements in. And yeah, Tweeby, they cost a bit. There were some recommendations earlier to substitute food for the supplements...?

Just to add . . . I think it makes a lot of sense to refrain from using mobile devices as much as possible during this program. There's a lot of literature on it and its effect on brain waves. . .

I'm on Day 2 of the program. I am feeling a little depressed today and am unsure why -- since it is not very characteristic of myself. I am also feeling sluggish this afternoon. I'm hoping that it's just a phase, like the book suggests might happen.

Things I've noticed is that interestingly enough, my dreams are much more vivid. It's also much harder to avoid gluten than I initially realized, although I am managing. Also this depressed mood has made me aware I'm much more able to observe the bad mood than previously, before doing all these different meditations.

I deactivated my facebook and am not really using my cell phone. I can't turn it off because of my communications with various employers, however.
I'm all set to begin tomorrow and I know that I'll be hitting some caffeine withdrawal symptoms: this is going to hurt. Any how, I suppose it is a good idea to go at our own schedule. . . I'll make my own observations frequently.

A lot of this book is predicated on doing things together. Roz and I are going to try to meditate at the same time on most days and she still wants to do a calendar, I'm down for doing together.

And for Yoga, P90X has a good Yoga workout. It's like 1:30 hours long, but you can just do the first third.
When did you guys make a meditation pact? Jeeze . . .

Before the Power Up Your Brain Program

Diet:
- 80% raw food
- No meat
- 1000 - 1200 calories daily; I'll be looking to bring this up to 1400
- Caffeine: No
- Alcohol: Yes

Fasting:
- Every other Wednesday

Supplements:
- None

Physical Exercise:
- Weights- 30 minutes daily
- Yoga / Pilates- twice a week
- Cardio- 5 times a week

Meditation:
- 15 minutes a day on average.
- I find I meditate longer on the days I fast

The biggest change I'll be making for this program will be taking the supplements. Also, the Shamanic Exercises, and refraining from mobile devices.

---
Start Date: Saturday, March 26, 2011
---

Power Up Your Brain:
Day One
Day Two

Diet:
I had the coconut oil with a fruit shake, a big salad with veggies and some dressing that I made myself out of organic mustard, 2 raw eggs, and olive oil, and a trail mix- raisins, goji berries, almonds, cashews, and brazil nuts. Also, some pomegranate juice.

Physical Exercise:
- Weights (30 minutes)
- Running (1 hour)

Meditation:
I did try the planetary meditation mentioned in the book, but it turned into a normal meditation sitting. As far as the planetary meditation goes, I think it's a good idea to plan a time and meditate along with someone else. The book doesn't give much information about it, but here's what I found online: http://www.project-meditation.org/a_mt2 ... ation.html

Other than that, I deactivated my facebook, and have decided to only have my phone on from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. I gave my close friends, family, and supervisor a home phone number in case of emergencies. To be honest, I'm finding it a relief to have it off.

PS: I'll start working on a calendar.

-Roz
