| I'm new to this stuff; in fact, this was my first time sarging with any kind of PUA knowledge. I went to the restaurant where I work and hung out in the lounge area. Two reasons for this; first of all, it was familiar territory, so I was comfortable and knew the angles/exits/quiet spots/etc. Second, if things didn't go my way I could still have a beer with friends.
I sat down near the bar (as employees we can't sit at the bar... ever) at a table with a view of the entrance. Within ten minutes three girls, a 7 and two 8s came in and sat down. Normally this wouldn't make me nervous, but armed with the knowledge that a priority target had just entered gave me serious butterflies; that will improve with experience.
I waited until they had food orders put in so that I wouldn't get interrupted by a waiter for a few minutes and casually walked by while faking a cell phone conversation. I glanced over and made eye contact with one of the 8s, the non-target (she was a blonde; I prefer dark hair, and the other 8 had it).
*Note- I don't have a tape recorder, so this is as accurate as I can remember it... and I have a pretty good memory.
Me: Hey man, hold on [faking cell convo], let me ask these girls over here... I'm sorry ladies, I need a female opinion here. Which is a bigger turn-on when a guy is picking you up on a first date: an expensive sports car or an SUV with a couple kayaks strapped on top? [I used this line because my family has each, and thus I could use the answer in my favor].
Girls: Ummm... [they look around], we don't know! [I shall refer to the girls now singularly, the 7 as 7, the blonde 8 as 8, and my target as T.
8: I guess it depends on the guy's personality.
Me: [Faking cell convo] Dude, relax, I'm getting expert opinion here. [To 8] Please, continue.
8: I mean, like, if the guy comes off as a rich lawyer but pulls up ready to take a hike or go kayaking or something, I guess it's more of a turn-on than if he fits the profile.
7: Yeah, that makes sense, or if the down-to-Earth guy pulls up in a Benz, I'd be like, 'let's take a ride baby!' -giggles-
Me: OK then, which would you prefer? The kayaking lawyer or the rich woodsman? -giggles-
T: The rich woodsman.
Me: Well aren't you vain [my first attempt at a neg]. [Into the cell phone] Yo man, I gotta go, peace. [To the girls] You ladies expecting anyone this evening? [Shake heads no] Of course not, cuz now your party is complete .
I fluffed for awhile, generally ignoring T. I was afraid to neg her too much; I don't have a grip on how much is too much yet, so I left it at one time. The food came, and I exited under the pretense that I had to make a business phone call. After smoking a cigarette outside I walked right past the table of girls and sat back down at my original table. However, they only gave me a wave goodbye (and three smiles) when they finished and left. Mind you, all this took place between 7:30 and 8:15, dinner time, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
