Unless you want to make the people around you nervous.
That's exactly what you want to do, not in a mean spirited way of course, you don't want to take over the world or anything. Imagine HB10 freaking out and acting all needy around you for a change, whilst all the other guys panic and leave.

except standing at full parade rest would not really work like that.

True. But it will certain make people uneasy when a tall guy does it with a straight face tho.

I know that. Which is why I only use it at work when I am dealing with angry people, or I am protecting a VIP and the general public is around them.

In itself no but if you have the game to back it up it will help you greatly, as long as you have belief in it. Obviously just standing there like The Terminator looking all bad ass and acting all serious isn't going to do too much for you. And also I agree at the end of the day having solid posture won't solve all your problems with women but is that a reason to ignore it completely?

When I first became consciously aware of my awkward stride and strange manner of slouching it took along time to fix. (Thats when I actually finally decided it might be worth fixing) Throughout the process I made a complete jackass of myself with my robotic almost "too perfect" posture, but slowly and surely it developed into a more natural kick ass way of walking and standing. I guess its all down to internal calibration, like when you first start doing approaches the conversation spills out awkwardly and then through time it begins to flow more naturally.

Having implemented a better more alpha posture has definitely been a huge plus on my game. More heads turn as I walk through the world and other people seem to be alot more respecting of my presence in first impression meetings.

Trust me it doesn't unless your swaggering about with an angry scowl on your face.

Basically what I'm saying is, there's a difference between being dominant and being aggressive, the main give away is your facial expression.

Did you know that some research indicates that body language might be as high as 90% responsible for the first impression you create on someone. That’s a huge percentage, especially when you consider the importance of first impressions and how they set the stage for further interactions. Not trying to be a smart arse or anything but just making a point of saying that body language is not something to be ignored for fear of making people uncomfortable.

I'm fully aware...

the thing that i was saying would make people uncomfortable is standing at full military parade rest. its far too formal for the casual world, though it is highly alpha, so i was saying to tone it down a bit, since it covers a huge number of the points.
