Most DEFINITELY hit the gym. I'm 26 and about 6'2" now, but in highschool I was a skinny twig. The poster who said good posture and weight training was dead on.

I started hitting the gym when I was 17 in my senior year (was so weak it was embarrassing... i couldn't lift much more than the 45 lb bar!, and worked out a bit in college. I haven't gotten huge, but your confidence goes way up when you develop a nice chest, stomach, arms, etc. My biggest problem is my legs, they're still too skinny IMO.

Don't worry about not being fat... the weight will come. Better to have to build the muscles you already have rather than have to burn off fat AND build your muscles. If you want to get serious about it, get some whey protein to make shakes for when you work out. Drink one about an hour before you work out, and then one within 30 minutes after your workout. I use the Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate stuff, it tastes great even when u mix it with water (I also use milk).

Mainly get good at:

Bench press (my workout usually consists of a warm-up set, then 3 sets of 8 to 10 repetitions). Also do incline, decline bench. Switch it up with using dumbells on the incline instead of the bar.

Curls (4 sets of 20 reps, alternating between arms)

Abs (try to do 100 total on an incline bench with the leg holders. Probably will take you a few sets to reach 100 until you get good, then you'll be able to bust out a set of 50 no problem)

Really the above are things I do regularly, do some googling and you'll come across some decent weight training info. Cardiovascular training (running, cycling, elliptical machines) is important too.

Just know, you're gonna be sore with your first few workouts but this is normal and good! Do some stretching before and after working out. I'll say again, google is your friend.

And definitely work on your posture. hold your chest up, don't slouch or slump. This is something I still struggle with, but I think I am a lot better than I once was.

You forgot about legs. If you do all that upper body work and nothing for your legs you are going to look pretty funny. Its better to work out all areas of your body, that way you get the best possible shape and looks from your body.

Also it is best not to over work your self either. As you can injure your self which is never good.

Get fat. Seriously.

I was the same. I'm a fitness instructer, I'm telling you, put on weight then put on muscle.
This shit works.

Whoah, thats exactly what happened to me... Not on purpose ofc.

Years back, I ate alot and became fat, whoah! Then I started bodybuilding and now today, I have massive muscles and little fat :D!

Very true on both of these. You definitely need to work your legs, and it's something that I still struggle with right now. And yeah, don't overwork yourself. Know that when you start out you aren't going to be lifting ridiculous amounts of weight. Really I say start out with fairly light weight just so you can get the form down and get comfortable doing the exercises.

I'm with everyone else, put on some muscle mass. Heavy weights and food. Working on your coordination is good too and it will make you look smoother. Any sport that requires balance would help. With age, you'll bulk up naturally in most cases. You'll grow into your height.

Well, im 6ft3.5, and I weight about 160lds, so I'm pretty lanky

Basically, you've got to be proud of being tall (easier said than done, I know), but seriously, it's a pretty good place to be. Since you're thin too, that's also a plus in your favour. All you've got to do is emphasise the good points...

Firstly, the clothing you wear. For a while I decided that I had to wear baggy clothes to mke myself look bigger. Big mistake!!! This just looks like someone really thin trying to look bigger! Wear clothes that fit properly. I now wear normal cut jeans, and plain close-fitting t-shirts (or just medium t-shirts) or Medium shirts. This actually makes you look less thin really

Secondly, peacocking. I find that, to emphasise the tone of my arms (rather than the length, because I've got long arms lol), try a wristband on one arm, and braclets on the other. A decent necklace looks good too.

Thirdly, because of your height, you MUST have a good posture. This will make or break a tall person's look.

People will tell you to bulk up and go to the gym, but this didn't work for me...unless I was prepared to eat 4500 calories per day (yes, that's what it took)...which, to be honest, I'm not perpared to do

Follow these tips, and you will look good!

So find clothes that fit basically?

I hardly ever slouch though, when I'm standing Its always straight.

Another thing is that I probably eat 3x more than a grown man but I still can't put any weight/fat on

I wouldn't bother trying to eat your way bigger, it can be done, but it will be very very difficult. Trust me! You can hit the gym by all means, and this will at least improve muscle tone. Look at Mystery, I mean, he's 6ft5 at least, and with the peacocking hats that he wears, he looks even way taller than that. Think of height as peacocking!

Yeah, exactly, find clothes that fit, perhaps even a little on the smaller tighter if you want. For example, close-fitting Tees look good on me, I've been told. Don't over do it though, and go all emo, but there are some good ideas in that style.

Good job on the slouching and standing straight. That's important on tall lanky people such as ourselves!

I am about 6'2 and the best advice I can give is to start surfing, you will see the results pretty quickly and it will bulk out your shoulders making you seem a lot bigger than you are.

For word. Tho I disagree with the lanky part. If you have bad posture and not owning your body, then it is bad. But if you own your body and walking tall, a lot of people are going to look over your lankiness. Working out will help some, but not everyone's body is made to be bulky. Just look at Snoop Dog. He is 6'3" and lanky, but he walks with confident and owns his body.

I agree with the last post. Being lanky isn't that bad. I'm 6'3 and built wide, and it intimidates women more than anything. Most women are scared of me more than anything. They are much less likely to venue change with me because they think I'm going to like overpower them and throw them into a van or something. I often have to try and act overly nice to compensate for my size.

dude, you're 16 and you're what??- 6'4"???
That's unreal, bro!

Go get a blue shirt, khakis, some new shoes, and rock it out! :p
With shaq o neil out of the way, you can give tall people some respect.

Now you can strike up a conversation about how you could never go trick-or-teating at haloween cuz with your height it was just too unbelievable. lol

You'll figure it out bro. Have fun!

I agree on wearing clothes that fit. Nothing baggy!

Certain brands fit tall guys better than others.

This is also certainly true. But it is a bitch to find them tho. Thankfully the internet make things easier.
