To be precise, she said she wouldn't be ready at 7 and offered 8.
She didn't "offer" 8...she said "No, 8." "No, 8" is not an offer.

This guy says he doesn't believe in compromise
He asked her when she was available, keeping in mind her sleep problem. When she said no 8, he compromised and tried to meet halfway, ie 7:30. When she was adamant again for 8, he even explained to her his restriction.

He is so afraid to cooperate with another human being that even the tiniest detail shakes up his reality.
Asking when she is available = cooperating
Meeting halfway with 7:30= cooperating
Explaining his situation with the buses = cooperating
Jack makes a good point that OP first introduced the non compromising dynamic, and this may be her doing it back to OP. Fine. He shouldve known he got her to compromise once and shouldve done the same for her the next time. He was domineering the first date. She was for the 2nd. From the moment she said 8, he shouldve said ok, taken the 7:30 bus and waited this time. I could give OP more leeway, just because he DID try to compromise to 7:30 and she shouldve dropped the game at that point. He's ASKING her, not TELLING her. And yes, when you dont have a car and take the bus, you gotta at least understand everyone cant meet you at a specific time due to your transportation problem. I'm just seeing that he DID make an effort to meet in the middle and pulled back from the "No, X time" thing.
