What would you think of a guy in his early 30s who looks like he’s in his early 20s and has a decent paying job and a college degree who was dating a 19 year old girl going to a community college to get a nursing certification? How old are you (just curious about what people of different ages think)?

Is it normal? Weird? Creepy? Is there a general consensus on what people think of this type of dating situation?

How common is it? Have you see something like this before? How does it usually turn out?

What are pros and cons? What are problems that could arise?

Also, if the guy tells the girl he’s in his early 30s but she initially thought he was in his early 20s, would she lose interest in him?

This is assuming that it’s just casual dating (either short or long term); not a situation where either is looking for someone to settle down with.

There's people that wouldn't approve, fuck them though.

It happens, and could turn out just like any other arrangement. Marriage, dramatic breakup, cordial breakup.

She might.

The only people who you should give a fuck what they think are your co-workers, customers, or immediate family.

And this kind of indifferent attitude helps attract women.

I'm 40, and I only date 20-somethings. I take very good care of myself, so I expect my partners to as well. Unfortunately, most women my age eat too many carbs and indulge in a couching/shopping/wine lifestyle, and look very unfeminine, like linebackers in cargo pants.

My current girlfriend is 21. We've been exclusive for ten months or so. I hang out with her friends, she hangs out with mine. And let me tell you, being with a hot 21 year old only HELPS me with other hot 20-somethings, lol. It's a snowball effect. If we break up, I have other feminine, attractive women in that age range ready to go.

Before her, I lived with a 23 year old for several months. Before that, a 25 year old. In-between, a few 20-somethings and a few 30-somethings.

It also helps that I don't live out east anymore. I live in a mountain community that prioritizes an active lifestyle, arts, and quality of life over acquisition of material items and the antiquated puritanical nonsense of the mid-west/eastern suburbs.

Imagine a trapper emerging from the mountains, back into town after a long cold season. The women in town aren't going to give a fuck about his age if he's fit and acts like a man. The mountains are the mountains. You eat, you fuck, you die. You don't just exist in a land of strip malls, your life nothing but shopping and televised sports.

Be the trapper. Focus on your goals, and don't worry about the chitter-chatter back in town as you stare down from you mountain perch. You are the man. And women of all ages want to be with you.

I just turned 31 and my current gf is 21. I enjoyed about 2 full years of singledomship where I dated a number of women, the oldest being 4 years older than me and the youngest being 11 years younger.

1. If you look young then nobody will give a fuck. Honestly. My mother has made a few off hand comments, but she ALWAYS makes those kinds of comments. My gf family is fine with me, her friends are fine with me, and I've never actually had anyone act out due to our age difference.

2. It's relatively common, although not overly so. I'd say for a 10 year age difference you'd have a small but decent percentage of men and women who are either currently doing the same or have done the same.

3. A girl won't lose interest if she finds out you're older than she thinks. If she is interested, she is interested.

4. I wouldn't say that there are "problems" but there are certain issues that will arise, such as simply not being able to identify with certain cultural things that were present before (e.g. tv shows, music) but it's not a major issue in my opinion.
