Whoever opens first gets priority...unless they obviously fuck it up, in which case it becomes fresh again and you default back to whoever opens it.

In this case talk to your buddy, tell him you wana go for her but hes more important and hes still gonna make a move (not just that he likes her, but hes gonna act on it) then you'll let him.

If hes cool, and realizes that you have a better chance, he should back down. If not you get to decide if you wana back off and save your friendship (advisable) or if you wana blow him out and take the chick, but lose a buddy.

Its In human nature to do things for selfish reasons. You dont want to have conflict with him and lose youre friend or his respect, but you also want this girl.
If he's fucked it up then its ok if you go for the girl. Its not like they had a long-term relationship or anything. If he's knows anything about PUA then he knows there are plenty of other girls out there and understand youre within your right to game this girl.
Also i'd just like to add, people are so quick to next girls, have alittle persistance.
