Any good videos (youtube etc) on how to dance in a bar setting? I need to know:
1. which moves are standardized and necessary to know how to perform (I need a set of some 5 moves to know by heart and vary between as default option when I have nothing else in particular). Apart from demonstrations of the move in a video clip, I would like some opinions and discussion on each move and what PUA people think you signal by making of a specific move 8)
2. some good tips on useful forms of kino during dancing
3. some tips on gaming on the dance floor, i.e. some strategies for advancing your game out there. Say, you do dancing while standing apart making some moves. How best to go from there to dancing moves in which your bodies are in contact etc? :?

Btw, why is there no FAQ on dancing in the FAQ thread above?

Most people I've heard of only hit the dance floor as much as they need to,
others won't go anywhere near it (I think it's a social comfort thing..)
Anyway from what I'm gathering from your post, you probably hit a lot of nightclubs where some basic dance moves are a necessary skill to have.
The probability of having to hit the floor comes up too often to ignore.

A friend of mine gave me a good video, and you can find some previews for it on youtube called hip hop moves for the club for men from nightlife media.
covers a lot of basic easy to learn moves, they even have girls come on and
tell you some things to do and not to do.

note: in the video they only show the basic moves, you have to add your own style to it..

You guys read my mind. I need to learn to dance. I bought an instructional video on club dancing yesterday, ended up being a bunch of crap. I'm serious, they were teaching how to disco. It was for older people I guess. Did you guys see the reviews of the video on youtube though? 2 out of 5 on just about all of them. According to the comments, women thought it was hilarious and some thought it was too "white"

honestly dancing can be learned if you just go watch other people dance once u see them dance go home lock ur door turn on music and try to do what you saw other people doing. how do you think girls learn how to dance? i had a girlfirend awhile back she was a amazing dancer and i was askin her where the hell do you learn this shit from? she told me i watch other people do it then i go and do it. Learn from others maybe invite a close female freind over ask her to teach u. I really doubt videos are gonna work man... good luck to you

Why the hell would you NEED to learn to dance? If you want to that's cool. If you feel like you NEED to that's chump. I'm not calling you a chump bro, I'm saying think it out. There's another way to get what you want.

I was just throwing some options out there to put it in perspective. If your not lucky enough to know someone that can dance and can teach you, your options are pretty slim.

The moves, the way they show you probably are too "white", like I said it's
just basics, you have to add STYLE. Anything when it's broken down into it's most basic part's looks retarded. You have to add style and learn to go with the beat. Like I told one of my guys before we started hitting the clubs when he would ask if I knew how to dance - "Are you kidding, What color does this skin look to you! (I was pretty white and pasty at the time) When we started hittin the clubs, he basically called me a liar and that I could dance. I just repeated again " I don't know how to dance.....but I fake it pretty well"

If you don't like to dance, simple don't.

If you do I'm just saying it can definitely strengthen your nightclub game.
It's easier to open set's on the dance floor seeing as it's normally pretty loud in clubs anyway. Most HBs are at the least mildly impressed that you have the confidence to get out there and move. Opposed to the guys on death row that just stand around watching the girls dance or the guys out there that just
"stand" on the floor while the girls dance around them.

Unless you have a photographic memory I think it's actually pretty difficult
to learn from something when it's not right in front of you. There's no way to repeat something when your first learning it, unless there is a solid image in front of you. Also before you can work with something and add your own style to it you need a basic structure to work from.

Keep looking maybe someone can find something better, I found some but
I hate having to work on stuff for week's before it looks right. That's the type of stuff you work on later after you get more experience on the floor.

He's Spiderman. And don't do anything after the extreme low back pain in clubs unless you wanna get thrown out. 8)
