I read about half of the book. Useful but you could probably sum all the important stuff on one reddit post (as I can tell so far).

And one thing, the guy's a total dick by disrespecting Church. I don't know even if that's true story or not, but the author says how he fucked a girl in a Church while ceremony was being held.

I'm all for diversity but he lacks some serious respect. Glad I didn't give that dick my money...

EDIT: Regardless if he's an Christian or down to the ground atheist, you have to have some standards.
Come on man, lol. What does that have to do with anything?
Are you a total dick for fucking a girl Outdoors? Do you lack some serious respect towards neopaganism or Earth religion?
You can say whatever you want, Holy places are supposed to be treated with respect. End of the line.

A church is holy for Christians. A mosque is holy for Islam. A sacrificial altar is holy for the ancient Aztecs and a forest is holy to neopagans.
Whether or not a holy place is to be respected is up for debate within the circle of practitioners, but getting pissed at someone because they don't share your ideology, or in this case for fucking a girl in church, is pretty much being pissed at someone for fucking a girl on your favorite team's stadium.

So it's okay if you're not a muslim to fuck girl in mosque? It's okay to disrespect their holly ground?

It's not okay to fuck her right under their eyes with the sole intent of purposely taking a shit on their religion.

It is okay to fulfill a fantasy if your intentions are to simply fulfill a fantasy. Should you be caught you will assume the consequences of your actions. If not, no harm no foul.

But you can't realistically expect to live your own life through the prism of what other people might find offensive.

If I started my own religion and considered bars and night clubs to be Holy are you going to respect that and not be sexual with women in them?

I don't think you're equivalent for Jesus, Budha, or Muhammad.

I was closer to cross' stance (not the relevance to what the author does in his life to his book but that in a church that would be disrespectful)but rcs points changed my mind. Looking forward to cross' rebuttal

I think not wanting sex in a bar or club is a bit different as if you made that edict you didn't create the bar or nightclub. Followers of the relevant faith put the structure in place so they have some say on what can and cannot occur there. If I build a nightclub and say no sex here should that be respected?

If you do, your attendees will probably share the same ideology and will most likely abide by it, since they chose your club. People who don't will choose a different club.
If however you hold a multicultural event, where even those who don't agree are more or less forced to join, it may happen.

I think everyone understands the excitement in doing something they know they shouldn't. It's illegal to fuck a girl atop a pyramid but don't tell me you wouldn't totally do it if you were in Egypt. And I'm sure we can all agree doing it is by no means a statement meant to say "Fuck Egypt, fuck Egyptians and fuck you entire culture".

It's a simple and harmless fantasy.

This is just rationalization because once you passed the threshold of defending your opinion you'll keep creating new metaphors in order to justify yourself.

I'll go even further, if a stranger broke into your house (assuming he had the keys, so he didn't do any damage) and fucked some women in your bed while you were away. How do you justify that? It is your home.

It's the same with Jesus, Church is his home, Mosque is Muhammad's home, it's holy ground to him and his believers and everything he stood for; and you say because it's just his fantasy it is justified? No. It can't be.

It's simple respect, there are things you just DON'T do.

I'm pretty sure Jesus doesn't sleep where those two fucked but that's besides the point.

The thing is, it's not Jesus taking offense to this kind of stuff. It's his followers, who usually tend to think and speak in his name.

Respectively, if that dude breaks into my apartment and fucks in my bed, should the guests I have over for dinner be offended and take action in my stead? It's my bed. It's my house. They're my guests. Why are they speaking in my name?

Plus, how would they even know if nobody saw it happen?

It's your opinion to which you're entitled.

This thread went overboard because of me, I'm still congruent with everything I said, it doesn't matter if you're Christian or not.

I believe that there is something Bigger than me, Bigger than you or any other poster here and in my humble opinion there are things you just don't do. Not because what society, parents or some rules tell you... Rather because out of the respect to something you don't fully understand. One shouldn't mock these things.

I made my point so I wont post here anything else.

Difference is, RC actually lives there whereas Jesus doesnt live in any chruch. Plus, I wouldnt advocate breaking into a church to have sex. Im not fond of commiting crimes.

That said, were two people to sneak away from service to find a secluded spot for a bit of sinful romance, Im fine with that. But hey, Im also not religious so whatever....

True. I'm not religous and I'm somewhere between you and Cross. Fucking in church disrespects someone's religion imo, as you're going against the "laws" they have prescribed for the environment. But, its not some huge thing to me.
