Idk, but from your first story it seems like you are really slow to react on a girl's approach. As she started joking she probably enjoyed the way you were. But suddenly you make a change in behavior and become very available. That's a turnoff.

Suggestion: Keep playing on your slow reaction time as if it's intentional, a part of your attitude. You could've turned to her when she was joking about your beard and make a different move to see if she would follow you and mimic that too. If she would, you could make the moves more sexual gradually and see how far she would go. Playfulness is key. End the game with a smile and start a conversation.
