I think you can change but not drastically.

I think you will always carry that vindictive streak in you.

If you ever get in a relationship, it should be with someone on your own level. But see, you won't do that. Because deep down, you will have this need to be in control, to be better, more useful or whatever, you will feel this need to put down your partner even for the most miniscule things, just so you could feel better about yourself.

Maybe I could stop. I don't know. I've changed in a lot of ways just to get to where I am today.

My question is: do you think I got this from my mother or was I just born this way? I don't think the people on this forum know me well enough to be able to tell.

Parents. Where was your dad?

He left when I was 9 months old. He lived over a thousand miles away. I say once, maybe twice per year and it was always very superficial. He moved closer when I was about 12. I saw him more often. Moved in with him at 15 because I got in trouble at my mom's for having a destructive violent temper and breaking things, then again when I was 18. He paid more attention to his pet dogs than to his kids. He would lay on the couch and read science fiction and not be very involved.

Then, he got super rich about 6 years ago and started making multiple millions per year. This changed things.

100K/year in your 30's and onwards is top 10% at best. Not rich by a MILE. Somewhere in between top 10% and 1% for many age groups.

Regarding spending, do you have any clue what a good apartment costs in premier city like SF, Boston or NYC? What good travel costs? Or even fine dining and high end entertainment?

That's great. Why would you waste your money renting an apartment instead of buying a house? Who needs to spend money on high-end entertainment and dining? Like I said, if you spend WISELY that's way more than anyone would need. I just sold a $28,000 Lexus for an old pickup because I'm smart. It didn't have a/c, so I'm going to buy the parts for about $300 at a junkyard and put it in myself.

Bahahahahahah... Good quality houses or apartments aren't cheap in many areas. You can't just scrape up $500K on a whim. It takes years if not decades. And what, put down minimum and get a mortgage? You're just paying interest every month. Not actually owning shit or putting a dent in the loan principal. The bank owns the house.

Good travel? Fine dining? Apparently, a lot of people care, or this stuff wouldn't be expensive. They clearly find this stuff enjoyable.
