Don't mention the lack of a car until later because when a girl first starts talking to you she's thinking "what does he have to offer me". Just wait until she asks.

I don't have a car either and it can be very frustrating at times. I've had quite a few very hott girls break communication with me (possibly) over the car ordeal. If neither of us has a car and we can't fuck at her place our relationship is pretty much doomed because most girls aren't gonna wanna go out of their way for you, not at first.

My method of getting around the car is 1) don't tell her unless she asks(there's no way she's gonna see this is a positive thing), 2) "meet" her, don't mention "taking her out" because the whole picking her up thing is a part of that, 3) generally wanna meet her somewhere near her house if she doesn't have a car either(her house or yours is absolutely ideal if you wanna f-close), 4) if the date is going well and you feel you've charmed her and you're confident in your direct game you can be like oh hey i wanna take you to this hookah lounge but i don't have a car, mind driving us?, 5) be a man and find your own damn ride to the date, for god's sakes don't ask her to pick you up unless she offers, 6) do your best to impress her with what you already have, you're already needing to make up for not being independent.

The obvious way around this is call a cab and use alcohol as an excuse why you're not driving.

Pretty much all the time. I share a house with my mom, but she's either at work or in her room glued to her laptop with headphones on. She has no idea what I'm doing at any point in time, and doesn't much seem to care.
Sure. I'm aware that one of us has to have a car. And it is true that an unusual number of girls around here don't have a car. But I can screen for that.

Yeah, once I'm over the first date hump, I'm pretty much in the clear. Either she's into me, and she will, or she probably wasn't that into me, so it's a moot point.

Yeah, I met a girl at work a few weeks after this(this was 2 1/2 years ago). She had a car. We've been dating for over two years. We actually got engaged, though I realized that was a stupid idea. I'm at college(away from home) now.

We more or less broke up. Partly because she's going to a different school(her constantly pestering me about going there instead was a major reason for me breaking things off). I probably wouldn't get into my program at her school(she probably won't either, but she's not concerned about the %14 admittance rate).

On the upside I've gotten a lot better at bumming rides from people. And around campus it's downright normal to not have a car. Half of the people in the dorms don't have a car.
