+1 to pumpington. Social status is not dependent on quantitative things like money or specific jobs. As long as you can handle yourself financially, nothing above that really matters.
pumpington's list rejoins Style's LASVEGAS attitude which influences how people perceive you while being simply yourself. For those of you who don't know it :
LOOKS - Be well-groomed, take car of your appearance
ADAPTABILITY - Be able to embrace unexpected situations
STRENGTH - Being true to yourself and sticking with it (don't change your opinion just to agree with others) and take the lead
VALUE - Have social proof, be well surrounded (by other girls preferably or by cool people)
EMOTIONAL CONNECTION - pretty straightforward
GOALS - Know what you want from life and what you'd like to achieve (you need a deep reflection on yourself for that one if you don't it yet)
AUTHENTICITY - DUALITY - Again be true to yourself, but have two faces, e.g. don't be shallow
SELF-WORTH - Believe in yourself and that you deserve the best in this world in an almost cocky way
I believe that the material (money, house, car, expensive clothes, etc) are not a cause, but a consequence of all that. If you concentrate on the material, you will live a shallow life. Don't want to be rich, want to be successful. Money by itself doesn't has no value, the important thing is what you do with the money you have. I have a friend with very little money but his life is just so full of experiences and he is so at peace with himself that whenever he starts talking, everyone in the room shuts up and listens. THAT is status
Ok, sorry my small ranting, i'll leave you to it now.
