As I'm sure many of the people on this form do, I consider myself a bit of a maverick. I don't mean this as some sort of arrogant compliment, to which I can puff out my chest, but my life is genuinely different from most other people

I have many hobbies and interests. While working a demanding job, I am also continuing my education. Hard work is not hard to me at all. It is only a choice. And I choose to be the best man I can be

With these things being said, do any of you find yourselves getting bored while talking to the "average" person??

I lose interest when people have no passion, and that seems often to be the case. Maybe I'm subconsciously comparing people to myself, but its genuinely difficult to find others with that "fire" inside.

The best direction to go appears to be an attempt to raise the energy levels of those who are willing. Not to expect them to equal my output, but at the very least to inspire them to accomplish more or believe in themselves. Maybe they're just waiting for that spark

What exactly is the "average person?"

It's pretty arrogant to think you can meet someone and instantly figure out their entire life to make a judgement like "they have no passion." It's also pretty arrogant to think that your way of life is better than all others.

Maybe you're the problem.

I can relate to OP at a time in the past, but now relate to the other posters and what they say about listening. And if you're a maverick surely you'd have the skill set to at least find other passionate people

Are you sure you're just so boring that you're not naturally inspiring people to be more enthusiastic with you?

The common denominator and all of these situations seems to be you.. So who do you think the problem is?

I can find something interesting in every person. I do so as a clinician, and i do so in my personal life.

I let them talk, and i always find conversational threads as they reveal to me aspects of themselves.

People who find all other people boring are often only self centered and look at potential new friendships only as interests. I know it since I've been that way for a long time.
