1. I would have just paid for the taxi in the first instance.

2. It sounds like she simply was not comfortable. I also agree - dinner at your place may not be the best idea for someone who you've never met before

3. She got cold feet and backtracked. It happened.

4. It's ok to be upset, but you have to see it from her point of view: Meeting a guy for the FIRST TIME at his place, you could literally be a sexual predator. It's obvious enough comfort simply wasn't established.

5. If she apologizes and try to make up, I'd arrange a second date, and let her propose the place, although you should tell her she has to "make it up to you" in some way.

She's only on holiday in the place where I live, and I think she's already left now, so I'll never see her again. Not that I wanted to, anyway...
