Hello.

I'm a 23 yr old Asian dude who just stumbled upon this whole subculture of picking up women. Although I originally approached the subject with skepticism and some trepidation, I must say the whole idea really appeals to me. This is partly because I'm a bit of a social wreck and I've been wanting to improve myself. Think of a typical nerd who never goes out or socializes. That's me. The only objective advantage I have for myself is that I'm not that bad looking. Women have opened up to me in the past but because I'm so socially inept I usually turn them away fairly quickly.

For awhile I just gave up socializing and straight up started ghosting. I avoided everyone and embraced my asocialness as part of a quirk. An in-born personality deficit that I could live with. And that I could live without women in the warm solace of my hands and my imagination. But that was all rationalization. There's always a part of me that yearns to be normal and socialize like a normal human being, or better yet with the finesse and smoothness of an mPUA or a PUG, or even like an AMOG. Just like any human being, really.

My entry into the pick-up game was Neil Strauss' titular The Game, which I breezed through in a week because of how entertaining a read it was. I want to learn elements of pick-up not to manipulate women but rather to improve myself socially, as I'm sure most decent PUAs start out from.
I'm open to any advise anyone can offer for ppl new to the pick-up game. Also, if anyone can recommend me more reading material necessary for the pick-up game, I'd be obliged.
I've contemplated starting the "hi" newbie mission, but that's a hell of a daunting task, if I'm to be frank. Step no. 1 for me is overcoming approach anxiety.
