One thing that's being forgotten here, is women in general put much more time into their appearance than men. So a chick who looks like an 8 walking with a 6 guy...well that chick's a 6 when the makeup comes off. Most guys have a very basic understanding of fashion, so they dont pay attention to what colors or patterns make them look better or slimmer. They dont pay attention to what haircut makes them look better. Women know this shit and dress accordingly to minimize alot of their flaws. Makeup, her hairstyle, eyeliner, push up bra, jeans to make a flat ass look better. Ive seen many chicks look great from a distance...ok close up, and damn near another chick when naked. So when you see an average Joe with a more attractive chick, its good to remember that she may be just as average as he is without the help which goes away at night. I'm sure many guys can testify to a girl looking a couple points lower when she isn't made up.

Theoretical question to anyone : is a chick's attractiveness (physically) determined by how she looks when made up? So is a guy dating out of his league if his chick is in his league, but with makeup she is above? Is a girl's beauty judged by her with makeup and meticulously picked clothing, or without?

The number system really needs to die quicker. It's worthless in every shape and for any purpose.
Personally, I would look at a girl's 'natural' looks (minimal make up and not at any event where dressing up is expected), plus fitness level.

I was in Aruba a few months back and the sexiest woman I saw at the pool was a girl and if you looked at her features, she was just okay and a little too skinny for my taste. She somehow carried herself as the hottest woman on that island and just about every guy had his eye on her.

So to answer this question... normally yes when it comes to makeup and style. Sometimes there are exceptions.

Also to mention when a guy is in a relationship with a girl.

Girls tend to dress up in public and guys tend to dress down which perhaps perceives people into thinking that:

- she is dating down
- He is dating up

As opposed to equal when the guy was once single and hoping to meet someone new in his life so he made more of an effort with the way he looked. But it's true, I got quite lazy when my girlfriend invited me to bars because I wasn't in pick-up mode. I would be going home with her whether I looked sharp or not

Lol, when I was writing my reply I actually was going to write a disclaimer abt the number system but thought fuck it. I think its useful in this case to convey the point of someone increasing their physical appearance, without saying those words. Personally, I dont see the rating systems as a big deal; to me its just to convey an opinion. Like if I told you a movie was a 8/10, it conveys quickly, it was a good movie in my opinion, but not perfect. If I said a girl is a 8/10, it conveys a chick is above average in looks to me, very attractive, but not flawless in my eyes. Its a simple system, not something to be taken too seriously.

Interesting. I judge it moreso on without makeup and style for the purpose of deciding whether 2 people are "looks matched." Like to me, if a guy and a girl are physically attractive on the same level when she doesnt have makeup on, they're on the same level physically.
