I like watches, but am old school, and think a man's jewellery should be confined to his watch, cufflinks and wedding band.

I've worn a two tone Rolex submariner since 2007. Only had it noticed twice, and both times were to ask, "Is that real?" Never got me laid yet, but it was something I'd wanted since I was 18, and had the opportunity to purchase at that stage in my life. If you like it for you, then I say, sure, treat yourself if you've earned it. And "earned it" is the operative phrase, because you shouldn't be buying a watch like that on credit, you should only be buying something like that if you can put down the full price in cash. If you can't, you can't afford it yet. And there is no shame if you can't, nothing commendable if you can either.

I would say it's better to wear a real Seiko than a fake Rolex, especially if you're wearing it trying to present the image of a "Rolex guy." It's just phoney all round, and you shouldn't be putting too much stock in things like that as if they're the talismans to get you laid. Like a nice car or address, you can't speak about it without looking like a crass clown anyway. It's nice to have these things for sure, like reading the complete works of Shakespeare will enrich you as a person, but shouldn't be done in the hope it will get you laid.
