So today their was a supermodel hot girl, but I saw like three guys on her, so I'm like nah I dont want to be another fruit fly buzzing around her....I'll wait when she is alone.

Ok then I saw another cute girl on the leg curl machine, with a foreign accent.

So this is DJ's game:

I think the previous mistake I made was getting a number too early, with only 15min chat and the number is not solid!

Fun times at the gym. There's a couple different ways you could approach this.

Quick tip before we get started on the different approaches, Don't feel so time constrained while interacting, Take the gym over act as if its your house, your spot, while talking to the girl.

Meet people there be cool with the front desk, people regulars that you see working out there, get acquainted and establish yourself as a cool guy, everyone likes there. I literally walk through the gym and have people saying Hi to me coming up to me and giving me hand shakes, hugs etc, other fitness girls, models, notice this.
It adds value to you, and seems normal your talking to them, most of the time they are already curious to who you are, seeing so many people greet you.

Your approach wasn't bad, practice on your end game a little bit.

Now lets get into a way you could have approached this.

1. You expressed how the one girl had a lot of guys around her noticing her. You can use this same for of dynamic to get girls talking to you easier. For example walk past them confident, and alpha, not even recollecting them at all(theyre use to every basic guy checking them out) make them notice you, let them notice you. Start working out near her doing your own thing, let her get curious about you, now don't wait to long, and casually ask her a question, opener, or like you did work in with her, this seems more natural and she already has curiosity about you.

Get the conversation going, have fun make her laugh, get her liking you, then tell her your gonna jump in the shower real quick, and ask her to go to this protein shake place, health food place, for a quicky ( there's always one by a gym) preferably jump in her car, give her directions, etc. fuck close from there either her place in the car or go to a park somewhere, wherever you live etc.

Often girls will offer their number very quickly. The dude thinks he is a player but the reality is that they gave it to him so he would go away.fake number or not, the result is the same.

Gym bunnies are kinda my thing, or have been.

A few things work to my advantage in this environment:

1) I'm am pretty jacked + ripped (its usually guys asking me how to train this or that - women are generally less inclined to spark-up a convo)
2) the gyms a place I feel quite competent
3) I don't glare, or objectify by starring at the obvious (every other guy is already doing this, no reason to come-off as just one of many)
4) I m usually befriended by other built guys, and the interaction is usually quite jocular/funny so it naturally draws curiosity from others, especially women

I've trained with some very attractive (and fit) women. I had rep at my old gym as a bit of a player, though admittedly I had relations with VERY few of the girls I trained with. My last gf was from my old gym, she turned out to be a real head case and I had in fact left the gym because of her (just to heed my warning about potentially shitting where you train/work etc.).

Now that that's out of the way here's what I suggest:
-fly-in under the radar - yes, asking to work-in with her is a good approach and in fact it's been a go-to of mine for years now
-things are already sexualized - you're man, she's woman...she's dressed (likely) in tight fitting gym gear, no need to fawn over her curves. ALTHOUGH I am not against complimenting her physique, or even "I've got to tell you you've got some other-worldly gluts!" - they train hard, wear tight clothes to put the fruits of the labors on display, an honestly intended compliment will generate positive feelings
-propinquity - the more time you spend in a place around someone, the more 'attractive' you become to each other so long as there's some sort of initial attraction. Gym girls, I'd banter with them, for myself I offer value in that I know what I am doing in the gym so I typically offer for them to do a workout with me. I'd give it a few times of seeing her before getting the number to build some comfort to be perfectly honest. Gym girls are used to having guys disrupt their training to hangout, or get into some time waisting conversation that lends to nothing. Polarize her, ask her out quick, but don't feel a need to do this on the first interaction

And most of all don't take yourself too seriously just have fun:)

One of the silliest things I'd done when I joined my 'new' gym 2 years back. I asked this REALLY cute fitness bunny to spot me on preacher curls. She couldn't have been more than 100lbs, 5'0 tops adorable yet slight bitchface, body was a 9 easy C cup tits, phat little bubble ass. I workout at a college gym too and go at roughly the same time... see the same people (including the same HB's) with the rare exception of a rare "non regular" for my time. If you and her are on the same workout schedule there is no reason to rush it at all IMO.

The goal of most hot athletic women at the gym is to workout (which is how they got hot and athletic)

If I notice a girl coming in at my time regularly Ill start by just smiling and making eye contact at first so she knows I notice her. Then after idk a couple of workouts of that make my way into her workout area to get eye contact then do the "hey hows it going? I see you here all the time My name is Picard, its nice to put a name to a face so I dont have to think of you as just that girl that I see that works out super hard bla bla bla". Then when I see her again say hi and slowly make my way into deeper convo.

Also... I try and be predictable. After almost every set I do Im at the water fountain. If she wants to "accidentally" bump into me or whatever shell know where Ill be... and that's actually worked sometimes.

I was talking to this girl at the gym earlier and she was doing some weird shit with the smith machine where she was laying on her back and pressing upwards with the bar.

I said something to her and she started talking to me. She said "Yeah, and it's really good for your glutes." My response was "I can see that..." ..... Looking at her ass. She smiled and came at me pretty aggressive.
