Ok, I made my first approach and guess what?! I got her number! This is what happened.

I was going to the post office and I passed by where they have this like fair with stalls and stuff. There were HEAPS of attractive women around. I walked through trying to pluck up the courage to approach one but didn't have the guts. I walked to the post shop only to find the longest queue ever. Disgruntled I headed back through the fair and loitered around a little. Plenty of attractive women but again I didn't know what to do. Just as I was about to leave I spotted HB8+ lazily looking through some hand bags at a stall. I don't know what happened but somehow I grew balls and just went up to her and started talking. I said, "I am looking for a bag for my friend's girlfriend". She wasn't selling the bags just looking around. I can't remember what happened after that but she said, "I thought you were after one for yourself!". She was all laughing and smiling. She was very pretty and I could see all those body language stuff kicking in that I've read so much about. In fact I was startled at how much she was digging me. I negged her a bit by say, "Is it the clothes I am wearing? Is that what made you think I was gay?!". She was like, "no not at all!". I started saying some stuff about the bags being dear and other BS. I asked her for her name, what she did etc. At all times she was friendly with smiles and laughter and very positive body language. In the end I just said, "It might be a bit presumptions of me but I'd like to take you out for coffee". Again she laughed and said "ok". I grabbed her number and headed back to work. The feeling was incredible. My first approach and I number closed.

My second approach was as I was heading to my car park. I saw HB7 up ahead and quickened my pace to reach her. My timing was excellent as I got to her just as we reached a crossing. There were plenty of cars turning into the road so I said to her, "be careful now, you don't wanna get run over". She didn't say anything but I pushed on. "This hill is quite steep. I have to walk up it to get to my car park everyday. Do you work in town as well?". She said she didn't work but was on holiday. She was from Germany and I told her I'd been there and traveled through the country. She was quite interested but a bit guarded. A spouted a few words of German I know and she laughed. Anyways to cut a long story short we walked and talked up the hill and I negged her heaps on how far she had to walk to get home (1 hour). She was wearing jandals and I was like how can you walk that far in shoes like that?! She said she'd gotten used to it. As I reached the top of the hill and we were about to part company I said good bye and left. I could sense she was expecting more. I regret not asking for her number because I am fairly certain she would have given it. It's just that I had ALREADY made up my mind that I did not want to number close her, I just wanted to practice my "game". Stupid move, I know but I'll learn from my mistake.

My third approach was the worst of the day. I was at an Asian supermarket and spotted from behind a nice looking girl looking for some stuff in one of the shelves. I walked over right next to her and picked out some stuff and went, "mmm my favourite, do you like these as well?" She was a little taken back but smiled and said yeah I do. Unfortunately that was the first time I actually saw her face and althougth attractive, she had a whole bunch of piercings and stuff. I was a little stunned and didn't know what to say. So I just started rummaging through and making excuses for not finding my favourite flavour. I left her to go and compose and thought I'd give it one more try (stupid move, I'd blown my chance). I got back there with the pretense that the storekeepr had said my favourite flavour was still there. I started rummaging through again but I noticed her body language was all tense and all. I'd blown this one. She must have thought I was weird or something and my behaviour definitely was.

Anyways, I think I did ok. Lessons learned were:

1) If an opportunity to number close presents itself, TAKE IT!
2) Get a look at whoever it is you're approaching before you approach!

Well first of all congrads on the first set! That is awesome you number closed because most of us can't claim that. The second set you had man. It seems as though you provided comfort, but you blew it man! You know what you didn't do, lesson learned.

The third, you have no excuse. Rather than take a negative approach, dive furthur into the set and see how far you can go. I know you don't like this girl, but that doesn't mean you need fuck her. Number close that shit and practice. I am telling you, the more experience you have the better because soon you will be in a situation similar but it will be a HB9. Stay positive on each set, even if they are not your type. I know its difficult to stay motivated in a set that you are not digging, but go on dive furthur and push yourself to responded to any comment. Remember this game is about you, not them. Some of my hardest sets have come when the HB turns out to be a 1-4. The game does not work on them as much because they put a wall up and are insecure. They think why is this great guy hitting on me? Its very counterintuitive because you'd think you could get a chick like that easily, not so.

You are doing great for a starter! Develop your routines more and throw in some DHVs. You seem like a very social person so floating a conversation probably comes easier to you. Keep up the good work my friend!

Hey thanks for the kind words. I actually ended up blowing my number close cos I negged her too much. There is a thread about it in the "newbies' section. I am pretty pissed off as she was a lovely looking girl. Still, I will not lose hope and keep on working on my game. My new rule is no matter what happens, attempt a number close. If she says no, too bad. That's no problem. You're just learning and working things out.

Word of advice don't neg her over the phone or through e-mail once you got her number. Wait til your in person to drop a neg, but you can tease her over the phone and through email.

A easy phone tease I ususally do it to any girl because they can't tell the difference.
