I've recently become single after a 3+ year relationship and I'm starting to relearn game theory. One major dating change since I was last single is the prominence of dating apps e.g. Tinder, Bumble etc. I've messaged this girl a few times with generic, friendly, get-to-know texts but I'm getting bored and want to mix things up and get her investing more. My thoughts are to message her the following and I'm keen on everyone's thoughts:
"I'm going to a secret Victoria Secret event this weekend (a lie) and I've got a couple of potential options for my +1 but could take a second if you're cool enough aha". This doesn't directly invite her but does invite her to sell herself to me. Eventually I will reveal I was joking about the event after I've played around with the idea. Thoughts?

You're already messing up.

If you have to lie to a woman is likely because you're putting her on a pedestal. You don't believe you're good enough for her, you don't believe you're interesting enough to keep her attention and as a result you make shit up just to come off more appealing. Even if this was good enough to hook someones attention briefly, it will never be good enough to hold it. And if you don't believe you're good enough for her, she could never possibly consider you to be. You're frame will influence how she feels about you. Everything you communicate to the people around you is based on your frame, whether consciously or unconsciously.

If you want to "practice"game theory, get out there and get familiar with the social environments all over again since you're recently single. You're going from being in a relationship straight to the internet. Theres nothing wrong with using online dating as a side tool, but if you're not getting out there and developing true social skills it will all amount to nothing but a few cheap lays a couple toxic relationships in the end.

Dull texting comes from "dull people".. Dull people are those who have yet to step out of their comfort zone enough to develop and edge. When will you develop yours?

Thanks for the response Eddie. I'm definitely not restricting myself to text/internet game but lying at any stage isn't right, so thanks for the advice. I'll have a think about other ways to reinvigorate the conversation

Dragula and Heywood, how would you spark a cool conversation from boring one text replies? I ended up messaging the girl, "Wow I'm exhausted! How's your day been? Anything crazy happen?"

I typically would send them a pic of my delicious food, saying 'You're so jealous, I can tell'

Which usually results in her sending me a pic of her food and then i'm like '' Ewwww, I hate gherkins, gonna have to block you'

I often use the microphone and talk to them too, it get's a lot more comfort than the text and is still not as pressured as a phone call.

You might as well stay silent if you're going to just ask the mundane 'How are you?' questions.

I am pretty sure that the way I text girls pretty much makes them decide they want to fuck me before I even meet her (If I got her number from a dating website)
