ok well this girl has initiated more contact lately, like out the blue she will just contact me. most of the time it's just general chat about the gym or what she's up to. she also started responding to my post on social media.

I know the general rule if a girl gets in contact again is to ask her out, however she was the one who dumped me. so should she be the one asking me out? and doing all the pursuing.

And I'll attest to this, if you're hung-up on the ex its your own damn fault for not creating new opportunities. Often times you go back with an ex as a sort-of consolation prize because you're still functioning from a Scarcity mindset. I've been there, on/off/back on again/off/on, rinse dry repeat over a 3 year period with the same nut job, why? Because I wasn't creating new opportunities and after having no communication with her I began to idealize things rather than moving forward and meeting new women.

Stop repeating the same shit and start putting yourself out there even if it means getting blown-out you won't implode, and in fact u'll gain the momentum forward that'll help prepare you for cool chicks you truly would want to be with rather than wasting time on something old that wasn't bringing you joy anyway.
