Not bad Flipz. I would have gone with more of a ghosted flame look, rather than the solid blue, but aside from that it's very nice.
Thought I just tried to discourage that :P

Anyway while your at spraying the car with fancy graphs that make you think you go faster, why not install 10x7 monitors in the wheels?

Sorry when it comes to cars I'm pretty aggressive, you get that when your in that buisness.

lol. we got our own ricky bobby on our hands. just because you have your own style in cars and for some reason think you know more then everyone else about cars doesn't means somebody's preference in a paint job is wrong. if he likes a street style of cars thats fine. if you like italian cars that is also fine. but hey, by the sounds of it we'll see you on the formula one circuit soon, so you must be right.

I personally just feel that solid transitions like that aren't as artistic. That's just my preference though 3 Hands. I also like Conceptual art and you might prefer portraits, which I can't stand.

I'm definitely not into a standard street car style, cause I despise those giant metal monstrosities that people put on the backs of Civics.

Just think about what you're doing to your car. If it looks like it could star in one of the VW commercials, then don't.

Not everyone has the same tastes... being in the car biz you should know that... If I like blondes with big fake tits and you like stock brunettes, ranting and how those implants wont make her any better in bed would just make you look silly.

I don't think anyone ever said that appearance mods make your car faster... it would be a silly generalization considering very few do (excepting properly tuned downforce devices)

I used to have a 92 mustang with a 347 and a fairly agressive nitrous build fed with a 200 shot... It ran an 11.4 on street tires.

After I got rid of that I got a 06 350z all stock except a billet grill... guess which one the HB's liked more.

I think it's like anything else with your peacocking style... it goes with your personality, your tribe and your overall image. You may not like the guys flames on his car... I'm sure it works fine for him. Just like alot of people don't like the eyeliner and masscara I often wear... but it works for me. (And Locke to after I twisted his arm to do it a little bit :P )

Well put Doc. Btw, now that you've told me you have a 350Z, I'm more than a little jealous. That's one of my affordable dream cars, although not affordable at this point in time.

Gratz on the car. My advice, is that you shouldnt try to show off with it. Having a nice reliable car in and of itself is a DHV...showing off in one is DLV.

Oddly enough, while in Nashville JB and i while standing outside a Waffle house saying g'night to 2 chicks we had bounced, had this dude in like his 40's come out to his mustang and rev the engine and burn out in the parking lot in front of only us and the girls.

Lets just say ive heard truckers speak more gently then these girls did about the dude. They were obviously not only unimpressed but actually got wierd about it and then almost instantly forgot about the dude.

Well thats my 2 cents.

Where are you guys from? Around here, unless you're driving a Ferrari or Aston Martin, women will just think you're trying too hard if you try to "fix up" a mediocre car (I'm not referencing any of your cars). Using here2learn's suggestion about making it loud turns women off even more because it just screams "I'm trying too hard" or "I'm compensating for something." I don't mean any offense in this, but based on my experience, the car isn't a good way to impress a lady unless you're rolling an exotic.

I honestly think a wood panel station wagon would be more peacock, I mean who drives those things any more. Chicks would be wondering what your deal was (Very Intriguing, Ya Baby) Beaver Panel!!!!!!

Nice GT. But unless you're in high school or college, most women will not care so much about the car. However, if you ARE in high school or college, it could show that you are well off and can have a little fun. I'm in college, and when a girl smiles at me when I roll by with my T-tops off it makes me feel that much better that something I spend so much time on can make people smile. Not to mention, the first day I drove my car last summer I saw a little kid playing hockey in his driveway stare with his mouth open as I drove by. And my car isn't anything special, its just clean.

My roommate has an '06 Roush Mustang, with some extra goodies to go with it (and now a Pioneer in-dash DVD/nav system). My other buddy has a '99 GT, lowered and loud. I personally think there are too many of these on the road, but they look nice so thats a plus. I rarely see Firebirds around here, let alone a purple one. The only thing I would have opted for is a convertible, even though it is slightly heavier its much more fun to drive IMO. My roommate used to have an '02 convertible, good times in that car.

Here is the cars mentioned above, plus mine, at a local car show last summer...

PS#2 Can all you wannabe PMR'erz(Pimp My Riderz) please not suggest horrible things to do this this poor guys car.
Cannot agree more. Don't add a shopping cart to your trunk, or put underglow or any type of exterior lighting that looks like balls. If you get wheels, go 5 spoke. Don't kit it with something extreme, I've seen whats out there for this car. Or, if you're going to keep it stock, I'd recommend some tint to go with the black.

I never liked the look of the 944s. A kid at my apartment complex has one, gutted with a roll cage and stripes (over the rear window too, wtf?) It just looks weird, but I guess he races it at Watkins Glen and is a pretty good driver.

hey I am new to this forum, I own an 86 944 turbo, and I gotta say flipz what you did to your car is unspeakable, a Porsche is peacoked enough with the shield on the front and tininted windows, you don't need to go ricing it out with flames... get a honda!

Don't turn your cars into ricers with flames and spoilers, a car is peacoking device when it is original. Instead of spending 30,000 on a brand new mustang buy one from the 60's that is restored or get an old mercedes sports car.

I was actually mostly just kidding about it being a peacock accessory. Buying a car just because you think it would impress a woman is lame. I have been a mustang fan for years and traded in my '98 GT to get this one... Plus I've always been a late 60s/early 70s muscle car fan and once Ford melded the retro with the modern it was really a no-brainer as to what kind of car I was going to get. It did, however, get me thinking about how you hear a lot of talk about guys only getting girls because of the car they drive. I don't see how that works most of the time though because unless you are flagging girls down on the street or jingling your Porsche key chain at them like a moron, they aren't going to know what kind of car you drive until you're already past the attraction phase.

In response to various questions and comments:

-There will never be a spoiler anywhere near my car. I ordered it from the factory with the spoiler delete option and that's how it's staying.

-I'll most likely lower it about an inch or so, but that will only come as a side effect of the Ford Racing suspension I'm looking at... not for cosmetic purposes.

-The exhaust will be Steeda... and it will be loud.

-I'm actually thinking of slowly turning it into a Shelby GT clone... well sort of... I'd never be lame and get Shelby badges if it's not a Shelby, but I'll probably work to approximate the overall design cues that you can see in the following picture...
