Correct, it's not a neg, it's push/pull. You're affiliating her with this badass girl and in the story you paint her as a super fun, strong, confident woman, but then take it all away by skeptically calling her a goofy dork.

1) She sent you a friend request which means she essentially approached you, which is a big IOI. The last thing you want to do is neg her.

2) I only give advice that has been extensively field-tested. If it's something that hasn't been field-tested I will be sure to say so.
