Ok so a friend of mine is going to a bar tommorow night with friends. He's not a close mate, but a good lad, he will be there with his wife, who I don't know that twell, and all his friends. How should I play this one? I ask because I don't know any of his friends, and I'm natuarally vey shy with people I don't know.

Ok last week I went to an event by myself and knew no one. Guess what I did? I held out my hand and said "Hi, I'm _____, how are you?" and shook hands with strangers and usually the other person would do the same. After that it was "so, what do you do?" or "what are your interests?" Incredible right?

Just use the dudes to warm up. I assume you're not a homosexual so this should be easy right? After you're warm talk to some girls you don't find attractive. Then lastly, maybe one you find cute.

BTW what's the difference between a good lad and a close mate & if he's not a close mate how do you know he's a good lad...?

Im def 100% straight. Well he was a guy who installed my Satellite TV system, then in my doorman days I'd see him at my venue many times and we would have a chat. Then I left that job but saw him in my gym recently. So I've not been out socially with him but he seems a good guy.
