So I am a programmer living in Philadelphia and I am highly considering quitting my job and moving in a few months. After comparing many cities based on social, quality of girls and tech industry I narrowed it down to basically these four cities that I would like to move to:

Austin, TX (Very young city, pretty cheap amazing weather)
San Diego, CA (Also cheap and amazing weather, heard everyone is nice there)
New York City, NY (all around awesome but WAY expensive and could get cold)
San Francisco, CA (As expensive as NYC except I hear not very hot girls, alot of gay people BUT beautiful weather and probably the best tech scene out of the other choices.)

I have applied to jobs in all of them and my preference of the cities is the order in which I listed them. However I haven't actually been to any of these cities(except NYC) I have just done some google research which is why I want a second opinion from a perhaps well traveled person. Out of these 5 cities(lets include Philadelphia, PA - where I live now) which one would you want to live in and in what order?

Well, I haven't been to any of the cities you listed except for Austin. So I'll comment on that.

I grew up in Austin. It's a beautiful city, the people are absolutely wonderful, the weather is great, the culture is amazing. The women are gorgeous, and plentiful.

It's at the top of your list, so I'm going to assume you've been there. . . ?

Something to consider about Austin is the cost of living. I know that NYC is going to be hard on the wallet. Austin is a fairly cheap place to live.

Haven't visited any of the cities yet. The list was compiled base on just research. I have a limited amount of time to visit which is why i'm looking for a second opinion.

Also, lets add Boston to that list.

Well, I'm biased towards Austin.

Austin is fucking amazing. There's more girls there than you can imagine. They all have this free attitude. And not only that but the amount of people who visit Austin (tourist girls who want to fuck) is ridiculous.

It's a wonderful city. Texas in general is pretty bad ass, contrary to what popular media has convinced some. Shit man, even if you were to venture out, the small town girls are amazing as well. Super hot girls who just want to go to the city and have a blast.

I'd definitely pay Austin a visit. The cost of living isn't bad at all. The culture is the shit. The economy in Austin is booming, constantly. That place is heaven.

And if you want something in the country and relaxing, Fredericksburg is only an hour and a half drive, bed and breakfast, TONS of tourist girls walking main street. Kerrville is the next town over from Fredericksburg, and a nice little community with rivers, hunting, partying, and general fun. Luckenbach is like an hour drive from Austin, and that place is always worth visiting, tons of fun country girls. Galveston puts on a Mardi Gras every year, and believe me, that place is off the hook a complete party.

Back to Austin. 6th Street is fun, lots of girls there. It's just a vibrant community with tons of action all over the place. Great people. Smart people. Hip people. Hipster people. It's fun. That's where I'd go.

But again, I'm biased.
