I'm new on this forum and just had a great on RC's texting guide. Wish I had read it sooner, because I might have messed this situation up, but still would like some advice on how to proceed. What's there to lose anyway

So I met this girl on a Halloween-type festival with costumes last Saturdaynight. She was wearing a white dress with brown dots and I was dressed up as a pilot. We were both kindda tipsy and I asked her: "What in the world are you supposed to be? A puma? It doesn't look like anything I recognize at all". She responded laughily saying she was "obviously a giraffe". That got the conversation going, and we ended up dancing and laughing. Eventually we were making out a lot and I got her phone number before I left.

Now the next day I sent her a kind of boring text (which I now realize after browsing this forum):
"Hey babe! Great party yesterday! Did you survive the trip home? "

2 days later, she did respond: "Omg! Such a late response, sorry. Immediately got back into the hectic life over here. Thankfully I did survive, it was a lot of fun! Next year again "

So I'm wondering how to respond, and recover from my bad opening text. If at all possible? What do you guys think?

"What are you doing this week? Lets get together for a drink."

Send that. She already knows if she likes you and wants to meet up or not.

You can try to tease her one more thing about being a giraffe or something fun/crazy that happened at the festival.

But then the point is to get her on a day 2, so invite her out this weekend or as soon as possible so you can interact in person.

It really wasn't that bad of a text.

Fluff for 2-3 messages and then do what warped suggested.

What gives you the impression that your text was bad?

Now while it maybe cheesy to me, she responded to you positively and with emotion. Thats actually what you want. I don't think you need help here.
