You loved this girl. It's completely normal to be upset. But she cheated on her. So she's not worth it. You were with her for seven years. This can be a huge learning experience for you. You may not see the lessons now but as time passes you'll look back and see them (much like how you can't see the mountain when you're directly beneath it but as you walk away and turn around you see more and more of it).

What you need to do is improve yourself. Work on yourself. Get confident. Be social. Meet new people. Take the things she said about you and ask yourself if any are true. If you agree you're a bit antisocial then do what I mentioned. Learn new things, partake in the hobbies you enjoy. Do these things and the pain and depression will subside. I promise you.

You have an emotional investment, but the pain is just a biochemical reaction within your body. Work on yourself and you will reach greater heights. You will also forget what you're feeling now.

If it were truly that simple depression wouldn't exist.

You're diagnosing the op with clinical depression? To me it sounded like he just needs to grow up a little get a life outside of video games or web surfing and find some new women.
