Whether or not you choose to come back is up to you, but if you really did make a good impression they might even open you up later.
If you're finding it hard to talk a few minutes in then you need to work on your material -- although some rely completely on natural conversation it's always helpful to have some canned stuff in your arsenal.
Look around on this forum for some good DHV stories and routines. We've all been in a situation where we were stuck sitting there like idiots thinking, "Shit, what do I say now?"
Being a pick-up artist is to never have to wonder what to say next.

will request you to tell me how to initiate a thought process so that i always have something to say.....
i try this a lot ....we chat, ask about interests and hobbies but soon it becomes monotonous, and the targets start showing disinterest. this sometimes also lead me to one-itis
yesterday itself i was unable find a topic of conversation tht cud interest the target

Just be a fun guy! Interests and hobbies are pretty lame, but if you fall into that trap then just bounce into a fun DHV story or routine. Don't be afraid to try stuff out, too. If you're in the mood to have a thumb war, do it! And like I said, if you feel yourself falling back into the awkward-boring feeling, simply excuse yourself to rejoin your friends and start over.
