I'd advise against going out and dropping money on alot of clothes at one time. Unless you hire a consultant. Odds are you'll buy a bunch of stuff that wouldn't work. A couple items... Wear for a while... And then add.. As opposed to buying a new wardrobe from scratch.

How do I know when something doesn't work?

It may not go with the style you will develop. I have a bunch of jackets, pants and shoes that look good, but I never wear because they don't suit how I dress. So I'd say buy stuff slowly. Like buy a blazer and v neck and shoes... Wear and get a feel for it. Look out for other styles similar to yours. A week later you may decide hey I like wearing this blazer.. A blue shirt would be good with it. So you pick up a shirt. You may think hey I like this v-neck but would like to war with without the blazer.. Maybe some more casual shoes so you pick that up. Play around with it. Personally I buy things in peices cause if I buy all it once I don't wear all of it.

Ok, I get it, thanks! :) What are some casual shoes you'd recommend (other than the one RC mentioned, since I bought one of those yesterday)?

I dunno... Rc can better advise specifics. Casual for me can range from boots to sneakers. And it depends on what I'm doing. My advice is just to take it slow so you don't waste your money. Add slowly and see what you like.

Thanks man.

RC, this may be a stupid question, but for the blazers, can I go for any brand? I can't afford e.g. an Armani blazer yet. The reason I'm asking is because my friend said if I'm going to dress like that, I should have the money to back it up, not some "cheap" imitation. :/ I'm not rich yet. What brands do you go for?

Lol. That's bullshit.

My favorite blazer was like 90-100$ I think. Also neo is right about piecing things together over a bit of time.

Don't spend ridiculous amounts of money on clothing (unless you can easily afford it). Shit happens, you go to a club and a drunk girl stumbles and spills her wine all over you. Those clothes are more or less ruined regardless of brand.

Remember the definition of tryhard? If you can't afford Armani, but buy Armani, you're overcompensating the situation. And what does that make you?

This is great, thanks. What do you tell people if anyone asks you why you're "dressed up?"

They don't. You're not dressed up. Unless you plan to work out in those clothes.
