Searched, couldn't find any topics devoted to clothing in a school environment.

Some kid came to class wearing a suit.. I thought it looked cool but other people think it's out of place and "douchey." So, what should I wear so that I look fashionable but not like a try hard idiot? I like hoodies, but curious what you guys think of them?

My general advice is to never wear baggy clothes. Wear clothes that fit you the best, not to tight though!

Never combine clothes with more than 4 colors. I always wear dark clothes, but contrast is important too, so I add little white (tshirt for e.g.) and brown shoes with brown letter belt. If you have black jeans, don't put black belt, and vice versa.

It's important to note that ultimately it's about your character and how you feel in clothes you choose to wear.
Even suits will fit you well if you act comfortable in them.

Be yourself. Stay clean and hygienic. Be confident.

I useually wear comfortable clothing to my college campus. Always clean.

I don't wear a lot of different clothes but have cool combinations for the clothes I have.

You express yourself through your clothing. It says a lot about you.

What is the message you are trying to convey to people?

The way you dress conveys that msg.

So next time you are picking an outfit, think about how you want to come off.

The msg I send is a msg I can work with.

So when i'm flirting with a girl she'll see I'm fashionable and clean cut. But not over the top "Look at me I want attention". naaaa. Relaxed and chilled, good vibes.

I agree with what has been said. You should wear fitted clothing. If you want to take it a step further, you can look at the guys who are successful with woman and copy what they are doing.

you can follow style magazines, see what the manicans at the stores wear, etc.

Even better ?

Get a girl or a guy who is an aspiring fashion designer to help you look good. Not bad eh>?

How old are you and what do you mean by school? Highschool? College? Kindergarten? it's relevant.

Personally I don't think there's ever a time to wear a suit in school. It's absurdly tryhard and laughable.

Here's my suggestion. Go for fitted jeans, a cool V-neck shirt or a buttonup slim fit and a blazer/sports jacket.

Top it off with some soft leather oxfords or something similar (the ones that aren't shiny) that match your upper body color.

Also as someone else mentioned, don't mix more than 4 prominent colors.

Yeah something like that. The black dude gets it. Other two examples are also alright, except I dislike the gray shirt and also the deep vneck.

Here's a one for slim fit:

and the oxfords:

Do you wear something like that everyday?

Nobody in my school wears them, so wouldn't it make me look tryhard?

No. Whether or not you're tryhard doesn't have anything to do with what "most guys" are doing. Most guys are entirely average. Overcoming mediocrity is not tryhard.

Notice the guys in your school. Most will be dressed the same way. Baggy jeans, running shoes and the first tshirt they got their hands on.

Notice most guys are terrible with women. There's a reason why 20% of the guys get 80% of the girls.

Point is when you're talking "best" you can't be talking "most".

That being said, you're tryhard when overcompensate a situation. School is casual. A suit is never casual, so it's overkill.
You're not wearing anything radically different than what everyone else is. It's still a pair of jeans, except fitted instead of baggy. It's still a T-shirt, but a nice v-neck instead of the first piece of clothing you grab out of the closet. And the blazer + oxfords are still casual. The difference is in style. Dressing well is something you should do for yourself primarily, but it inevitably gets women drooling over you too.

And yes, that's more or less what I wear on a daily basis since I was about 20.

Gold. Thanks man! Going to the store today for new shoes and clothes. :)

Can you give me some examples of different clothes you wear? Do you wear different colored blazers or something? How do you add variation to your days?

Yeah I have multiple blazers of different colors. Mainly navy, grey and black. Same goes with jeans. You'll be fine with a darkwash, black, grey and kakis. Shoes should match the blazer and you can get creative with the shirts.

You can even wear tshirts with funny inscriptions or whatever on them, they still go well with the outfit. For example I have one that has "Without me you're just aweso" on it. It's particularly great in a club or party since girls will use it as a pretext to approach you.

As a mention tho if you're gonna buy buttonup slim fits, don't get dress shirts. Get casuals, just make sure they're not shortsleeve. Always better to have a long sleeve and roll it up rather than a short sleeve.
