Ask for contact info first time you meet?

I'm having a dilemma here. Am meeting a lot of women and having these great initial connections, but I tend to play it a bit cool, and wait until 2nd time to trade contact info.

The problem is, I don't end up seeing most of these women again.

Am I better to take the risk and ask for contact information the first time I meet them, or better to play it cool and wait, even if I don't see them again?

here's the thing, of you don't ask the first time for the contact information, you won't get laid, how will you ask her out? ok, you're actting cool, but that's useless if you won't see her again... you have to do both.

You're saying that you'll wait until the 2nd date to trade contact info, but how do you arrange the second date? Do you arrange it before the first one is even over? Some "pick up artists" will disagree with me here, but please don't arrange the second date while you're still on the first one! Don't say that you play it cool, and then admit that you do that... please? I hope not lol.
