Morning, gents.

Yesterday I was chatting with a girl I've know for a while. She was clearly feeling down (broke up not long ago) and I said something like "I hate to see you sad". She said "But I am. Very". I replyed with "and I would like to do something about it". She said "you are not de one who can do something about it, but thanks anyway". I ended the conversation at that point.

It's pretty clear I failed somewhere, but how? Is it still too fresh and I have a shot, only not now; does she simply not see me as an option and that will never change; or should I have taken charge with something like "oh yes I am, if you let me proove it".

How did I went wrong and is there something I can do to bounce back?

Doesn't sound like she is interested.
