Whats with this trend of people blocking other people on facebook, twitter just because they differed in opinion ?? I've recently seen this mindset emerging on social media. In last one month, almost 6 people complained about how they posted a comment in which they disagreed with that person and ended up being getting blocked.

I've also seen this in pickup. Recently I told a girl that we can't be friends anymore just because our minds don't match. Got a "ok..fuck you" along with a block. On another occasion, I was sarging (or atleast trying to sarge) a girl online. She flirted for a while, then stopped replying and then ..BLOCK. Turned out that she had a habit of blocking people as she had blocked her other friends in the same manner before too.

Is this mindset only emerging in my culture or is it worldwide and people in general are losing TOLERANCE for other people's opinion ?? Would like to know if any one has a similar experience.

Comes down to malignant form of self preservation. If they are so quick to block than they did you a favor so you don't have to waste more time getting to know them.

It's those people who say "I don't give a fuck what anyone thinks!" lol

The internet has set up walls for like minded people to circle jerk each other (reddit subforums, various specific forums...(PUA? naw course not), facebook) and the design is built around the avoidance of challenging your mind set.

On the plus side those of us willing to go through the challenge of our lifestyles we can change ourselves. I look at those around me (utah) stuck in a religion I was raised in and to think if I didn't challenge my beliefs how much sadness I would still be in.

Doesn't it get frustrating when you have to live among these kind of people every day ?? These kind of people contribute more than 90% of all the people. And sometimes it really gets on your nerves to always be in that "Minority" who challenge themselves every day.

Most days I am content with my position since I realize I am almost done with Uni and will then be moving far away. Anytime I manage a trip out of here though and come back I realize I need to get out of this place ASAP.

I live in utah, I visit Canada (vancouver) once in a while (not since being back in uni sadly but it helps me focus) sometimes California. Honestly any trip to a big city sets me off in that way.

I'm in Van, the only people form Utah I see here are Mormons lol (or is it Idaho?).

i cba to read all of the comments, but my response in short to what i gathered.

A) people block people for their own self preservation, to make themselves feel better

B) you annoyed the fuck out of someone, and they genuinely don't want to speak to you again
