even though that's true, there is a far more important reason: loiterers make one uncomfortable.

i found this out when a homeless guy was loitering around me. he kept looking at me, then looking away. he came close, then walked away, then came close again.

naturally, my defense mechanism got activated. "what does he want? is he going to attack me? is he going to throw something at me? is he going to rob me?"

finally he grows the balls and asks "do you have change?"

of course I said "no" without even thinking. I just said it to make him get away from me. I call this the "asshole shield" because I was being an asshole to protect myself.

This is the same thing that happens with women. This is the real reason for the 3 second rule, you dont want her defense mechanism to get activated.

the three second rule is hard for me, becuase i'm abit picky with women. I have three seconds to decide "Is she pretty?, Does she have a nice body?, what do I say?" I have a habbit of over analyzing

So what if you are picky - you can take 3 seconds and then if you don;t find her attractive or her body isn't up to your standard you can always say "thanks for the chat" and move on! Good observation for teh thread creator.

Any woman you hover around, or she knows you're eyeing her up will get creeped out. IF you're good looking (she's attracted to you) she will give you a bit more a break but the same rule applies. Most guys don't realize female attraction is not like male attraction - most average to hot women are hit on by guys they consider good looking, (and those they don't). With the ones they're attracted to they are just hoping they don't send off creeper vibes or come across as needy.
