So yesterday I was on the train waiting for my stop, then this random girl came up to me, and told me that her friend sitting in the corner, think I'm cute! I went, sat next to her and tried to start a conversation by asking random questions ! It was pretty lame..
I was wondering what I should usually do in a situation like that ? any help/advices ?openers ?

If her friend needed to tell you, you probably weren't getting anywhere with that no matter what line you used. Someone that timid would be a tough nut to crack even if you were aggressive.

Her friend only came over to embarass her friend who'd made a passing remark about you.

I'd have probably just waved at her and talked to the one who had the balls to approach you instead

I agree with this. This is also kind of childish..it makes me think that she was pretty young. Next time if someone passes the message that another girl called you cute...make her come to you. If she doesn't, that means it was a waste of time.

If she had to send her friend over to speak on her behalf, its likely that she doesn't have the social savy to be of much interest to you anyway. Not that nothing can be made of this situation, because it could. Preferably you would have to send a message back to her in the way that she sent the message to you. Saying something like " Well tell her I said hello" and then watch the response before approaching.

However the effort needed is more than likely not worth the effort. Especially when you can just talk to the girl that brought you the message instead. So long as she's attractive. Its likely that if the friend was the one that reported it to you, she thinks you're cute as well. You probably wouldn't walk up to a chick and tell her your friend thought she was cute if you didn't somewhat agree with him.
