Meh, I think the general logic is no they do not but there are certain situations where they do. The thing is there are certain things that are in play that might have contributed to that particular pick up line working on that particular night but for the most part it usually doesn't.

I remember one night I was with 3 of my friends and we were doing the bar scene and as we were talking and getting the vibe for the place, one of them was eye this one chick that was with a group of friends dancing. Now he is the natural in the group so he tends to be autopilot with these things so he waited till they were done and then made his move once they were all settled in.

Pulled up a chair as they were ordering drinks and began to work his magic. I was on the side lines watching and it felt like he was getting shot down a little. I slipped in only to pull him out of the dog fight he was in and as I was like "hey, we are about to pull out.....", one of the girls jumped in all focused and smooth and was like "who is this?" I was not expecting that cause im the brain of the group, or A.K.A the Analyzer. basically I think to much. I was really going to pull him out and then this happened. I stuck around and did a little small talk, carried the convo a bit to help my bud out but I really was focused on bailing and so I did after 20 minutes of talking and Wingmaned him. But even still as I left the girl that was all interested as soon as I came in to pick him up gave me that look like I should have stayed and kept talking even thought what I talked about wasn't that interesting.

There are probably a dozen or so stories like this were it was just the right place and time, they were on the proper part of their cycle, You fit a certain look, they wanted to just get laid, etc......And nothing you really could have said or done would have made you look bad. The thing I look for in regards to approaching game from a purely analytical perspective is looking for the cues or signs. those are usually the attraction pulls and push that tell you that no matter what you say, it wont matter because you are clear for landing if you get my drift.
