I met a 6/10 last Sunday while running day game at a grocery store. I spent about 10-15 minutes talking to her, got her #, and said I would call her in a few days to set up a date after asking her availability.
Well, I called her last Tuesday night around 8:30pm. She didn't answer her phone, so I left a quick viocemail telling her to call me back. About 5 minutes later, I got this text (using a different name):
"John! I saw you called, but I'm out with friends at the moment. How are you doing?"
I replied with,
"good good, I just got home from XYZ activity. do you want to hang out later in the week?"
She never responded back to my text. Everything I've read about texting is that you want to go into logistics asap, and save the conversation for the date. I'm not sure where/if I went wrong here. I get the feeling she was just being fickle and decided to change her mind. In the future, I'm only going to ask her out over the phone or in person. I do not have a good track record with texting.
I think your feelings are correct about her changing her mind. However, you assisted in allowing her to change her mind. Get her to commit to a day(same day or next if possible) right there and then and worry about logistics later. Don't wait a few days to contact her because the peak of your attraction is in her presence. Attraction fades over time.
