Don't you think that this is a problem that she's actually asked you this question? I'm asking this in all seriousness. I get that you are shy, but you cannot ask a woman that you are interested in to meet up with you and then have her walk away wondering what the whole purpose of meet was about.

You had the opportunity to express what you wanted when you were chatting on FB. You had the opportunity to do it in person. I personally think she is asking you why you wanted to meet because she feels like you wasted her time. If you answer, be honest and let her know that you were attracted to her.
