Funny story: I was at a bar, after reading the first half of "The Game" (go figure) so i thought I'd try out some ESP routines I read about and researched. I don't care who you are! If you don't guess whatever you're attempting to guess CORRECT, you're going to look weird. I first opened with, hey let me guess your horoscope, as her b/f walks up and asks her what shes doing, she says "buzz off" type thing, so she was really intrigued by the whole fact I could "read minds" then I quickly changed it to the, hey pick a number between 1 and 10 routine because I said I had to warmup first ... then feeling confident I said hey pick a number between 1 and 50 (a trick I saw on T.V.) then make a rule saying the numbers have to be uneven, and not the same (most people pick 37, I tried it in class) so lo and behold she doesnt pick 37, I say 37, she thinks I'm fucking weird, says it right to my face. WARNING TO ALL GENTLEMEN: If you're using ESP as an opener, prepare to be called weird, or a close sysnonym to the word weird. Anyone have an ESP routine that actually works?

I haven’t tried an ESP routine yet but that is something I am afraid of.

But I think I know what your problem might be: You shouldn't use the ESP trick as an opener. You run an opener or two and then neg her in an attempt to get some IOIs. Once you get them (and you have isolated her) THEN go for the ESP trick. That way you have hopefully built some comfort and even if you guess the wrong number she won’t care.

I think you skipped a few steps. In 'The Game' Style describes a situation where he runs the same ESP routine as you did, got the number wrong, but the target didn't care and I think he got a number-close or a k-close.

I’m just learning so take my advice with a grain of salt. But that's my $0.02

I have used plenty of ESP style routines mystery's is so much better than 1-50 there is alot of room for variables in a span that big mystery goes 1-4 (3) and 1-10(7) after you do it twice there is like a 90% chance you will get both right and if you don't get them right you don't have to get called weird to end the whole thing. You can say and THAT is PROOF that esp doesn't exhist! or in your situation...."I'm weird? YOU'RE the one that believes in a silly thing like ESP"

I know it sounds simple but the truth of the matter is IT IS simple to get around the fact that you messed up a esp routine this forum is PACKED with esp material read it and follow them closely you can't make up impromptu esp material.......

Getting the number right doesn't really have anything to do with it.

The whole point of that routine and most routines is just to display your personality, body language, voice tone etc.

I remeber I just went up to this girl once and said, "hey, limmie try something." and went right into it, and she was diggin it from the beginning. Just go in there with some positive energy and a smile on your face.

i agree with the above... i did the 1-10 number read on a few grls friday night i was right a little more then half the time... lets say you get it wrong and she says 5-6 or 8-9 just sayy opppss must be off a little and laugh it off.. and then try another..

I read something on here and love using it. Before you have them guess say, it only works if there is a strong connection, think REALLY hard, basically a bunch of BS, so that if you do get it wrong, you can say "Oh, that's why it would never work between us, we don't have a strong enough connection."

oohhh btw i forgot about this before on my previous post...the esp routine works alot better when you run it like this...

Walk up to a girl and say, "Do you believe in ESP?" Remember to SMILE or you may startle her. "Just think of the first # that pops into your head from one to four. Don't say it. Just think it ... now take that # and imagine that it is drawn on a blackboard in your head. Have you done that?"

She says OK

"What's so neat about imagination is ... we both have it ... On the blackboard, I see the number ... three."

Whether you get it right or not reply.

"Alright, lets try this one more time. This time think of a different # from one to 10. Got it? Picture it in white chalk on the blackboard ... you are thinking of the number ... 7."

If you got the first wrong and the second right, you look like you finally got it ... a 1 in 10 chance. If you get BOTH right (a 90% chance seeing as it is a psychological trick where most north Americans naturally choose 3 and 7 as their first picks) that's a 1 in 40 chance ... "and of course I don't stake my reputation on mere chance."

If you get the first right but the second wrong or both wrong, say... "PROOF! ESP does NOT exist!" Then start to laugh like this "Mooa ha ha ha ha ha ha! And you believe in ESP!" a good neg hit to start. If she mentions that most people pick 3 and 7 (most girls wont know this though) just say, "really? Hmm. didn't know that ... thank you Cliff Claven." (From Cheers)

If you take the wording I have and do this EXACTLY as stated, you will be surprised HOW well you will do. When they ask HOW, tell them ... I DON'T KNOW. Tell her you can SEE the #s on your imaginary blackboard. This is NOT a trick. You hate magicians. If she wants you to do this again, tell her ... "don't be greedy now."

Speaking of greedy ... if a girl kisses you on the cheek and goes to kiss your other cheek, tell her, "Only one ... don't be greedy." This is a good NEG HIT. Mild but a neg hit nonetheless. If she says, "Yes, but I'm French", you reply, "Are all French girls as greedy as you?"

There are a lot of really cool "magic" gimmics and routines that people can learn. A lot of them are really easy to master. I suggest hitting up a Borders, Amazon, or local hobby shop and seeing what they have in the way of books on that sort of thing.

I know, I know, you might not have the patience for this sort of thing, but just trust me, it'll pay off.

Mystery uses a gimmick called a thumb writer in a couple of the videos I've seen of him online. It's a bit of pencil that fits on your thumb, and you can really pull off some mind blowing shit with it. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to venture outside of number guessing and actually do some really cool shit.

There are loads of fantastic tricks along these lines, many of which can be done off-the-cuff. If you're really interested in this avenue you could get 1 or 2 books on mentalism (the school of magic performance based around mind-tricks)... I'd recommend Theodore annemann's 'Practical Mental Magic' and Corinda's '13 Steps to Mentalism'. If that seems like too much work there are quite a few good ones to be found online hope this helps.

P.S. The little pencil thingy you put in your thumb is called a swami gimmick and you can buy them in any magic store

i always get the numbers wrong! they never say 3 and 7 to me! but i still make it a nice conversation. thats what its about. just to talk about some bullshit when you would otherwise have nothing else to say.
