Hey guys so here's a texting scenario for you:

HB: Hey so I had this nose nasal septum correction surgery, so I can't leave the house for a while :(
Me: Wish you a fast recovery! Btw its ok, you can tell me that you had plastic surgery done :p

So here's my question: is my response inappropriate? I read somewhere that joking about someone's health is not appropriate, but I thought this joke may actually enlighten her.

Hahha nono this is a new project. I just got to know her recently.

You are right, I am probably overthinking this. But just for future references, as a general guide, would you crack jokes in relation to someone's health or better just leave it and keep to safer topics?

I'd say do whatever you want... And you're worrying about nothing.

I don't think it was in especially poor taste... The next guy might. It's a person-by-person thing.
