I've heard the whole cat and ball of yarn theory where if you drop the ball of yarn the cat gets bored and leaves.

So is there anytime I should ever tell my girlfriend I like her, much less love her? Or should I NEVER speak such blasphemy

If shes your girlfriend then she already knows you like her. However, if you are afraid/unsure if you are "supposed" to express your feelings for her then I dont think you're ready for a relationship.

dude, of coarse you can tell her you like her. thats not what the at and yarn theory is trying to explain. you can tell her you like her, but u need to be higher value than her. so that she's working to keep you around instead of the other way around. but ya, hang with her, have a good time, she likes u.

Cat-string theory is for PICK UP, not for relationships. Most of the things you learned for "picking up" girls no longer applies when you are in a relationship, it's a whole different ball game. And if you treat your girlfriend the same way you treated a skank at a bar then your relationship won't last.
