Get better at disarming the friend. Ask her what she does and act interested. Get excited over what she says "that's awesome, I'm the same way."

After a minute of blowing smoke up her ass ask "I'd like to talk to your friend for a minute, do you approve?" and look straight in her eyes when doing so. If she feels a connection, it's so much harder for her to say no.

On facebook, have a very short conversation, tell her that you love a certain pic, tell her that her pics make her look adventurous, whatever. Then tell her "Hey, I hate facebook messenging, I don't get on here often, give me your number and we'll keep in touch"

I find that it works fine as long as she's actually interested you. If she begrudgingly gave you her FB it will be hard to get a number.
